Congratulations to McAdory softball C/3B Mikeria Howard for being voted SBLive’s Alabama High School Athlete of the Week for March 21-27!

The senior went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, five RBIs, and scored four runs in a dominant 27-0 shutout win against Bessemer City.

Howard received 46.68% of the vote, beating out Huntsville's Isabella Myers who finished second with 37.47%. Spain Park's Lucas Thornton finished third with 15.52% and Hoover's Lucas Steele finished fourth with 0.11%. There were over 14,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for March 21-27:

Charlie Teel, Homewood baseball: Teel went 2-for-2 at the plate with a three-run home run, four RBIs, and had two runs in an 8-7 win over Hillcrest.

Lucas Steele, Hoover baseball: The Samford commit went 4-for-5 at the plate with two home runs and seven RBIs in a 14-15 loss to Parkview.

Jacob Francis, Hewitt-Trussville baseball: Francis threw a no-hitter and struck out 12 batters in a 10-0 win against Manila.

Lucas Thornton, Spain Park baseball: Thornton recorded the win on the mound and struck out five batters in six innings pitched against Oak Mountain.

Hayes Harrison, Oxford baseball: The junior went 2-for-2 at the plate and had two RBIs in a 9-5 win over Jacksonville.

Abby Gallaspy, Vestavia Hills softball: Gallaspy went 2-for-3 at the plate and had two RBIs in a 5-2 win over Spain Park.

Isabella Myers, Huntsville softball: Myers had two home runs, three RBIs, and was 2-for-3 at the plate in a 3-1 win over Decatur.

Ryleigh Hodges, Moody softball: Hodges recorded the win in the circle against South Lamar in five innings pitched and allowed just one earned run. At the plate, she went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and had five RBIs.

Daigle Wilson, Orange Beach softball: Wilson went 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, a double, three RBIs, and scored three runs in a 14-3 win over Hoxie at the Orange Beach Classic.
