Week 7 of the 2022 high school football season doesn't feature any head-to-head Power 25 matchups, but there are still plenty of good games on the schedule, including an Alabama showdown between Thompson and Hewitt-Trussville that may just be the best game of the week.
Thompson started the year nationally ranked, but has fallen out of the Power 25 after losing to two top 20 nationally-ranked teams to start the season.
Hewitt-Trussville has suffered two tough losses this season, but they have blown out all of their other opponents and have Thompson in their sights next.
Both teams are jockeying for position atop the Alabama Class 7A Region 3 standings, and a win this week could cement either side as a top contender for the 2022 Class 7A state championship.
This is one game you do not want to miss, and you don't have to. You can watch the Thompson vs. Hewitt-Trussville live stream on the NFHS Network.

Thompson (4-2) entered the year as No. 11 in the preseason rankings, but fell out of the Power 25 after it dropped its first two games of season to No. 14 Buford (GA) and No. 19 Lipscomb Academy (TN).
Since then, the Warriors have won four in a row without allowing more than 14 points in any of those games, including a hard-fought 17-14 win over previously unbeaten Clay-Chalkville last week.
Thompson may not be national title contenders this year as we once believed they would be, but the Warriors are still loaded with talent and primed to make a deep run in Alabama's Class 7A playoffs.
Hewitt-Trussville (4-2) only has two losses on the season, and they have both been to two of the other top teams in Class 7A, Central-Phenix City and Hoover, respectively.
In their other four games, the Huskies have dominated their opponents to the tune of a 196-46 combined score. They are led on offense by junior quarterback Peyton Floyd, who has racked up 19 total touchdowns this year as well as 1,715 yards from scrimmage.
With just two interceptions and one fumble this year, if Floyd can continue to protect the ball and score in bunches, the Huskies may be able to pull off the upset against Thompson.
Two of Alabama's very best square off Friday night. Don't wait until Monday to find out who won.
