As far as Alabama high school football goes, it doesn't get much better than this.
The 2020 AHSAA Class 7A state championship game between Thompson and Auburn is widely considered one of the wildest state title games in Alabama high school football history, and on Wednesday (November 30), the two teams will get the chance to run it back.
In a game that will never be forgotten by anyone playing or cheering for either side, Thompson captured the 2020 Class 7A title by pulling off a miracle that saw the Warriors block a punt and return it for a touchdown, then recover an onside kick, and finally hit a 35-yard field goal as time expired to escape with a 29-28 victory after scoring 10 points in the final 18 seconds of the game.
To say the game was thrilling would be doing it an injustice.
Now, two years later, the two teams will meet for the first time since that insane game, and it's safe to say that neither will be taking it lightly.
The stage is set for a dramatic rematch, and it's one you do not want to miss. Luckily you don't have to.

Thompson (10-3) enters this game looking for its fourth consecutive Alabama Class 7A state championship, which is something the Warriors have had their sights set on the entire year.
While they might have three losses on the season, they began the year as the No. 11 ranked team in the nation, but quickly fell out of the rankings after dropping their first two games of the season to two other Power 25 teams, Georgia-based Buford, and Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee.
Outside of those two losses, their only other defeat was a 9-0 loss to Hoover in the final game of the regular season, which the Warriors avenged with a 40-10 win over that same Hoover team in the state semifinals to earn the right to play in tonight's state championship game.
Auburn (12-1) has been considered to be one of the best two teams in the state all year according to multiple sources, competing for the top spot with Central.
Many considered Central to be Alabama's top team after Red Devils defeated Auburn 38-17 in October, but like Thompson, the Tigers avenged that loss with a thrilling 14-13 victory over Central in the state semifinals.
Now, the two teams are destined to meet in a rematch of the epic 2020 state championship game.
Will Auburn be able to get revenge for the heartbreaking loss, or will Thompson prove that the 2020 state title game was anything but a fluke?
Don't wait until after the game to find out.
