Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Arizona High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 28-Dec. 4 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Ava Adams, Junior, North Canyon - It was a lights-out game all-around for Adams on Monday in North Canyon’s 43-33 victory over Independence. Adams had a double-double with 25 points and 11 steals, as well as a pair of rebounds and assists. In Thursday’s 64-10 victory over Shadow Mountain, Adams finished the game with 23 points, six rebounds, seven assists and nine steals. 

Eva Amenhauser, Sophomore, Estrella Foothills - Helping Estrella Foothills fight to a 46-42 victory over Paradise Honors on Tuesday, Amenhauser had a double-double with 14 points and 20 rebounds. She also had two assists, two steals and two blocks to round out the night.

Tami Balogun, Junior, Agua Fria - Starting off her season with a double-double, Balogun had 14 points and 10 rebounds, along with three assists, four steals and two blocks to help the Owls pick up a 55-21 road win over Yuma on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Buckner, Sophomore, Fairfax - Opening up the season on Monday against Central, Buckner dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She also had six assists and five steals to help the Stampede defeat the Bobcats 95-22.

America Cazares, Freshman, Pueblo - As just a freshman, Cazares has been off to a great start, helping Pueblo pick up a 70-53 win over Mica Mountain on Tuesday. Cazares led the game in scoring with 26 points while also snagging seven rebounds, four assists, seven steals, a block and six deflections.

Reilly Clark, Senior, Catalina Foothills - Shooting 71-percent from the field on Tuesday, Clark had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Falcons’ 59-30 victory over Higley. In addition, she had five assists, two steals and two deflections. She followed it up on Thursday with another double-double in the Falcons’ 61-30 victory over Marana, posting 30 points. 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals and a deflection.

Cassandra Coolidge, Junior, Sahuaro - On Thursday, Coolidge posted 25 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, seven steals and two blocks to help Sahuaro defeat Sabino 91-8. Finishing Friday’s game with a double-double, Coolidge helped Sahuaro pick up 95-7 victory over Desert View by posting 21 points and 10 rebounds. She also had three assists and two steals on the night.

Bella DeCorse, Junior, Gila Ridge - Leading Thursday’s game against West Point in scoring, DeCorse had 22 points on the night along with five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block to help pick up a 53-26 win.

Navae Guidry, Sophomore, Mesquite - Posting a double-double in Friday’s 47-43 victory over Flagstaff, Guidry had a double-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds, an assist and three steals.

Taliyah Henderson, Sophomore, Salpointe Catholic - Henderson exploded on Tuesday in Salpointe’s 97-13 victory over Walden Grove. She finished the night with 29 points while shooting 81-percent from the field, along with six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Navine Mallon, Senior, Flowing Wells - In the Caballeros’ season opener, Mallon led things on the court by dropping a double-double in their 61-42 victory over Douglas. She finished with 20 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Shanielle Mallory, Freshman, Kellis - It was a big night for Mallory on Wednesday in Kellis’ 59-41 victory over Buckeye. Perkins finished the night with 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, six steals and seven deflections.

Madelynn Muniz, Senior, Boulder Creek - In Boulder Creek’s game against Queen Creek on Fridday, Muniz finished the night with 30 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block to help the Jags pick up a 66-20 win.

Nayeli Nidez-Acuna, Junior, Sunnyside - Dropping a double-double in Thursday’s 45-43 loss to Cienega, Nidez-Acuna still finished the night with 21 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and three blocks.

Aiyanna Perkins, Sophomore, McClintock - Shooting 74-percent from the field, Perkins helped McClintock breeze past Tempe 89-10 on Monday with 30 points, five rebounds, four assists, seven steals and two blocks.

Natalie Scherzer, Senior, Chaparral - Posting a new career high of 42 points on Friday, Scherzer helped Chaparral pick up a 56-24 victory over Sierra Linda. She had a double-double on the night also posting 10 rebounds along with one assist and four steals.

Alexa Sipson, Sophomore, Saguaro - In Thursday’s 62-25 victory over Dysart, Simpson had a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds, paired with three assists, four steals and a block.

Lia Sims, Senior, Central - Dropping a double-double on Wednesday in Central’s game against Washington, Sims had a 34 points and 10 rebounds along with an assist, five steals and a block.

Shay St. Claire, Senior, Coronado - Helping the Dons pick up a 52-34 win over Camelback on Thursday, St. Claire had her first career double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and four blocks.

Isabella Webb, Sophomore, Mica Mountain - Leading things on the floor for the Thunderbolts, Webb finished up Thursday’s 52-46 win over Canyon del Oro with a double-double. She ended the game with 14 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, five steals and a block.

Payton Westra, Freshman, Red Mountain - Making a statement for herself as a freshman, Westra helped Red Mountain cruise to a 55-20 victory over Combs on Thursday with a double-double. Westra finished the night with 14 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and a block.

Hannah Williams, Sophomore, Salpointe Catholic - In Thursday’s road tournament against Mission Hills in California, Williams posted a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and two assists to help the Lancers snag the 65-54 win.

Aniyah Willmott, Junior, Cholla - With her first career double-double coming in her second varsity game on Monday, Willmott had 15 points and 10 rebounds, along with four assists and four steals to help the Chargers defeat Empire 45-9.
