Congratulations to Calico Rock boys basketball point guard Riley Whiteaker for being voted SBLive’s Arkansas High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 28-March 6!

The junior scored 25 points in a 59-45 victory over Ozark Catholic in the Class 1A State Tournament. Whittaker scored 31 points in a 62-55 victory over Wonderview in the quarterfinals. He scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 49-44 victory over West Side Greers Ferry in the 1A Region 2 semifinals.

Whiteaker received 37.03% of the vote, beating out Brookland's Jack Henry Pettit, who finished second with 19.82%. Western Grove's Macy Young finished third with 13.99% and Sheridan's Landen Feimster finished fourth with 6.3%. There were over 71,000 votes tallied this week!

The senior truck out 11 in 4 innings allowing 1 hit. He went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and 4 RBI in a 13-0 season-opening victory over Central Arkansas Christian.

Rashaud Marshall, Blytheville boys basketball

The 6-9 junior scored 21 points in a 50-39 victory over Watson Chapel in the Class 4A state tournament. He scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds in a 49-42 victory over Farmington in the quarterfinals.

Carly Sexton, Greenwood girls basketball

The sophomore guard scored 18 points in a 56-35 victory over Little Rock Parkview in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. She made the game-winning shot in a 47-46 victory over West Memphis in the quarterfinals. She scored 16 points in a 64-46 victory over Marion in the semifinals.

Landen Feimster, Sheridan baseball

The junior was four-for-four and hit two home runs, including a grand slam, with seven RBI in a 17-5 victory over Conway.

Destiny Thomas, Jonesboro girls basketball

The 6-3 senior center scored 20 of her game-high 22 points in the first half in a 68-33 victory over Sheridan in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. She scored 15 points in a 52-33 victory over Vilonia in the quarterfinals. She scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half in a 61-44 victory over Little Rock Christian in the semifinals.

Gavin Alveti, Harding Academy baseball

The senior went 7-for-13 with three doubles on the week. He also got a victory on the mound vs Jacksonville and had nine strikeouts against Little Rock Catholic.

Aiden Underdown, Elkins boys basketball

The 6-7 senior scored 25 points in a 58-47 victory over Rose Bud in the Class 3A state tournament. He scored 22 points in a 66-62 victory over Episcopal Collegiate in the Class 3A quarterfinals.

Trinity Dobbs, Prairie Grove girls basketball

The 5-7 guard scored 18 point and had 11 rebounds in a 48-36 victory over Star City in the Class 4A state tournament. She scored 17 points and made three free throws in the final 35.3 seconds in a 47-44 victory over Highland in the quarterfinals.

Caden Lee, Ouachita baseball

The sophomore went 6-for-10 at the plate this week, including a 3-for-3 against Camden Harmony Grove. He also had 3 RBI, scored 4 runs, walked twice, and stole 3 bases.

Nick Smith, Jr., North Little Rock boys basketball

The 6-5 senior guard scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a 79-40 victory over Springdale in the Class 6A quarterfinals. He had 24 points in a 58-40 victory over Little Rock Central in the semifinals.

Felicity Pate, Kirby girls basketball

The 5-7 senior guard scored 20 of her 24 points in the first half in a 60-25 victory over Nemo Vista in the Class 1A state tournament. She scored 19 of her 25 points in the second half with 10 coming in the fourth quarter in a 53-44 victory over Ozark Mountain in the quarterfinals.

Jack Henry Pettit, Brookland baseball

The senior struck out 12 while allowing 2 hits in a complete game. He added a triple and two-run HR at the plate.

Colbie West, Bradley boys basketball

West scored 29 points in a 71-64 victory over Nemo Vista in the Class 1A state tournament. He scored 26 points in a 62-31 victory over The New School in the quarterfinals.

Karley Williams, Lamar girls basketball

The 5-8 junior scored 15 points in a 55-30 victory over Drew Central in the Class 3A state tournament. She scored 20 points in a 53-36 victory over Booneville in the quarterfinals. She scored 15 point in a 51-36 victory over Mayflower in a 3A Region 3 Championship.

Lance Milsaps, Dover baseball

The senior went 5-for-8 with 3 doubles, 2 walks, 2RBI and scored 4 runs.

Jaylen Lee, Bentonville boys basketball

The 6-3 junior guard scored 15 points in a 89-60 victory over Conway in the 6A quarterfinals. He had 18 points, including 8 in a 12-3 run in the third quarter along with 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in a 74-52 victory over Fayetteville in the semifinals.

Erianna Gooden, Fort Smith Northside girls basketball

The 6-0 freshman guard scored 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a 52-38 victory over Bentonville in the Class 6A quarterfinals. She scored 16 points in a 41-27 victory over Little Rock Central in the semifinals.

Lucas Greer, Little Rock Catholic baseball

The senior struck out 12 in a complete game with no walks and allowed 2 hits. Thirteen of his 15 first pitches were strikes.

Demetrius Sharp, Lake Hamilton boys basketball

The 5-10 senior guard scored 21 points in a 64-54 victory over West Memphis in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. He scored 36 points in a 87-81, five-overtime victory over Little Rock Parkview in the quarterfinals. He had 15 points in a 64-46 loss to Marion in the semifinals.

Cayley Patrick, Valley Springs girls basketball

The 5-7 senior guard scored 15 points in a 61-47 victory over Mountain View in the Class 3A State Tournament. She scored 8 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter in a 54-48 victory over Centerpoint in the quarterfinals.

Colton Sims, Russellville baseball

The senior struck out 10 with 3 walks and allowed no hits in a season-opening victory over Little Rock Catholic.

Kellen Robinson, Episcopal Collegiate boys basketball

The freshman scored 31 points in a 63-47 victory over Jacksonville Lighthouse in the 3A Region 3 semifinal game. He scored 25 points in a 50-47 loss to Mayflower in the finals of the regional tournament. He scored 15 of his 23 point in the fourth quarter in a 48-41 victory over Lake Village in the Class 3A state tournament. He scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half in a 66-62 to loss to Elkins in the quarterfinals.

Maddi Holt, Bergman girls basketball

The 5-7 junior guard scored 10 of her 20 points in the third quarter in a 65-31 victory over Hoxie in the Class 3A state tournament. She scored 35 points and made 6 three-pointers in a 69-38 victory over Mayflower in the quarterfinals.

The junior scored 4 goals in a 17-0 victory over Mills.

Daylen Love, Osceola boys basketball

The 6-7 senior forward scored 16 points in a 49-44 victory over Paris in the Class 3A state tournament. He scored 23 points in a 83-66 victory over Central Arkansas Christian in quarterfinals.

Reese McDonald, Clinton girls basketball

The 5-5 junior guard scored 19 other 23 points in the second half in a 66-45 victory over Danville in the Class 3A state tournament. She scored 18 points in a 59-55 victory over Episcopal Collegiate in the quarterfinals.

The 7-0 senior center scored 18 points in a 79-40 victory over Springdale in the Class 6A quarterfinals. He had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in a 58-40 victory over Little Rock Central in the semifinals.

Pacious McDaniel, Springdale Har-Ber girls basketball

The 5-9 junior forward scored 24 points, had 9 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 assists and 2 blocks in a 63-56 victory over Bryant in the Class 6A state tournament. She scored 19 points in a 64-51 loss to the North Little Rock in the semifinals.

The senior scored 3 goals in a 17-0 victory over Mills.

Darryl Katich, Cedarville boys basketball

The 6-1 senior guard scored 17 points in a 46-41 loss to Elkins in the Class 3A Region 1 Finals. He scored 24 points in a 66-49 loss to Walnut Ridge in the first round of the Class 3A State Tournament.

Renee Pittman, Kingston girls basketball

The 5-4 senior guard scored 21 points in a 61-49 victory over Rural Special in the Class 1A state tournament. She scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half in a 48-40 victory over Sacred Heart in the quarterfinals.

Lauren Humiston, Episcopal Collegiate girls soccer

The freshman scored 2 goals in a 17-0 victory over Mills.

Derrian Ford, Magnolia boys basketball

The 6-4 senior guard scored 33 points, had 7 rebounds and 2 assists in a 86-66 victory over Joe T. Robinson in the Class 4A quarterfinals.

Liza Shaddy, Norfork girls basketball

The 5-9 sophomore scored 27 points in a 67-43 victory over Jasper in the Class 1A State Tournament. She scored 13 points and had 7 rebounds in a 63-33 victory over Mount Vernon-Enola in the quarterfinals.

The 5-9 sophomore guard had 11 points in a 68-24 victory over County Line in the Class 1A state tournament. She had a game-high 27 points in a 60-27 victory over Wonderview in the quarterfinals. She scored 18 points in a 66-36 victory over West Side Greers Ferry in the 1A Region 2 semifinals.

Jordan Marshall, Little Rock Central girls basketball

The 6-0 sophomore guard scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds in a 52-32 victory over Fayetteville in the Class 6A state tournament. She scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds in a 66-60 victory over Conway in the quarterfinals. She scored 8 points a 41-27 loss to Fort Smith Northside in the semifinals.

Macy Young, Western Grove girls basketball

The senior had 18 points and eight rebounds against West Side, along with 21 points and 12 rebounds against Kirby in the 1A girls state tournament.
