It was an interesting week in regards to the Arkansas football coaching carousel beginning with the resignation of Glen Rose head coach Mark Kehner, followed by the announcement Thursday that Jonesboro’s Randy Coleman is stepping away from the field.

The Jonesboro Schools Twitter page released a statement from Coleman with news that he will still be working for the district, just in a new position.

“The opportunity to serve the district in the role of Coordinator of Student Services was one I could not pass up,” Coleman said in the release. “I look forward to serving the district in this capacity and continuing to make a difference in the lives of young people.”

Coleman compiled a record of 113-59 in 15 seasons with the Hurricane, winning conference titles in 2011, 2016 and 2021.
