Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Arkansas high school athlete of the week for May 15-21. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to make a nomination in a future week, email athleteoftheweek@scorebooklive.com.

Waylon Woodell, Taylor baseball

The junior went 2-for-2, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBI, earning MVP honors in a 9-3 victory over Mount Ida in the Class 1A state championship game in Conway.

Lexi Franklin, Booneville softball

The junior, after having to make a trip to the emergency room before the game to get 6 stitches after accidentally getting hit by a bat in the face, earned MVP honors in a 4-3 victory over Atkins by allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Class 3A state championship game.

Will Childers, Conway boys soccer

The senior scored all three goals in the Wampus Cats’ 3-2 victory over Springdale in the Class 6A state championship game.

Samantha DeLuca, Episcopal Collegiate girls soccer

The senior scored all three goals in a 3-0 victory over Central Arkansas Christian in the Class 3A state championship game.

Ross Felder, Springdale Har-Ber baseball

The junior was named MVP of the Class 6A state championship game in which he allowed no earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking 4 in 6 innings in a 5-1 victory over Bentonville in the Class 6A state championship game.

Macy Hoskins, Bryant softball

Hoskins hit a 3-run home run in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie to lead the Lady Hornets to a 8-5 victory over Cabot in the Class 6A state championship game. She went 1-for-3 with 4 RBI on the day to earn MVP honors.

Jett Bull, Russellville boys soccer

The junior scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute in a 1-0 victory over Hot Springs Lakeside in the Class 5A state championship game to earn MVP honors.

Anna Snow, Harding Academy girls soccer

The senior scored in the 44th minute to seal a 2-0 victory over Joe T. Robinson and earn MVP honors in the Class 4A state championship game.

Steele Eaves, Lonoke baseball

The senior, and University of Arkansas commit, was named MVP of the Class 4A state championship game in which he allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks in the Jackrabbits 6-3 victory over Ashdown.

Klaire Womack, Riverside softball

The sophomore struck out 18 of the 25 batters she faced and allowed 2 hits in a 1-0 victory over Mansfield in the Class 2A state championship game.

Edwin Baltazar, De Queen boys soccer

The senior scored 3 goals and was named MVP in the Leopards’ 5-2 victory over Dardanelle in the Class 4A state championship game.

Abbi Armstrong, Bentonville girls soccer

The senior scored the final goal in the Lady Tigers’ 3-0 victory over Fayetteville in the Class 6A state championship game.

Owen Stover, Woodlawn baseball

The senior struck out 4 of the 10 batters he faced in relief to earn MVP honors in a 3-2 victory over Palestine-Wheatley in the Class 2A state championship game.

Brooke Handle, Gravette softball

The junior struck out 4 batters and retired 12 of the final 14 she faced and was was MVP in a 5-1 victory over Pea Ridge in the Class 2A state championship game.

Elvin Montoya, Green Forest boys soccer

The senior had an assist on the second goal of the game in the Tigers’ 4-1 victory over Haas Hall Bentonville in the Class 3A state championship game.

Claire Barger, Harrison girls soccer

The senior scored the Lady Goblins’ only goal in the 50th minute and was named MVP in a 1-0 victory over Pulaski Academy in the Class 5A state championship game.

Kyler Hoover, Harding Academy baseball

The junior went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI and was named MVP in the Wildcats’ 10-0 victory over Rivercrest in the Class 3A state championship game.

Alyssa Houston, Benton softball

The senior struck out 12 and allowed 3 hits and was named MVP in a 7-0 victory over Greene County Tech in the Class 5A state championship game.

Cade Bowman, Little Rock Christian Academy

The junior went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI, scored 1 run and drove in the winning run in the 9th inning in a 4-3 victory over Valley View in the Class 5A state championship game.

Ayla Buford, Taylor softball

The sophomore allowed 2 runs on 7 hits and struck out 6 while going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI in a 12-2 victory over Bradley in the Class 1A state championship game.

Reece Tarini, Little Rock Christian Academy baseball

The senior struck out 10 in 7 1/3 innings and allowed 1 earned run in the Warriors’ 4-3 victory over Valley View in the Class 5A state championship game.

Alyson Edwards, Mansfield softball

The junior struck out 16 and allowed 1 run on 3 hits in a 1-0 loss to Riverside in the Class 2A state championship game.

Kade Smith, Harding Academy baseball

The senior and Arkansas Razorback signee allowed no runs on 2 hits while striking out 4 and retiring the last 7 hitters of the game in a 10-0 victory over Rivercrest in the Class 3A state championship game.

Kloie Lovell, Bryant softball

Lovell went 2-for-4, scored 2 runs and had 1 RBI in the Lady Hornets’ 8-5 victory over Cabot in the Class 6A state championship.

Jaxson Ingle Lonoke baseball

The junior went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBI in a 6-3 victory over Ashdown in the Class 4A state championship game.

Lydia Bethards, Benton softball

Bethards went 3-for-4, scored 1 run and had 4 RBI in a 7-0 victory over Greene County Tech in the Class 5A state championship game.
