Each week, SBLive gathers the best high school performances across the country with the help of fans, readers and staff.

We've separated boys and girls because of how many great performances there are each week. Now it's your turn to choose a standout among the pack, the best of the best.

Here are the nominees for SBLive's Boys Athlete of the Week for May 1-7. Voting closes on Sunday, May 14 at 11:59 (Pacific Time) and winners are announced on Mondays.

Gatlin Bair, Burley (Idaho)

Bair set a new personal record in the 200 meters at the BYU Invitational, cruising to a first-place finish with a time of 20.47 seconds. The junior holds the second-fastest 200 time nationally this season.

Brody Buffington, Catoctin (Maryland)

Buffington ran a PR time of 10.15 in the 100 — the second-fastest wind-legal time in the country — at the East Coast International Showcase.

Connor Burns, Southern Boone (Missouri)

Burns broke Galen Rupp’s 19-year-old national high school record in the 5,000 at the On Running Track Fest by recording a time of 13:37.30. Rupp, an Olympian and graduate of Central Catholic (Oregon), held the previous record of 13:37.90.

Connor Cobb, Ensworth (Tennessee)

Cobb tossed a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts in a 5-0 victory over Father Ryan. Ensworth had to forfeit because Cobb, a junior Vanderbilt commit, threw 121 pitches, one over the TSSAA’s maximum of 120.

Brandon Crabtree, Grace Christian (North Carolina)

Crabtree, an N.C. State signee, belted three home runs and finished with seven RBIs in an 11-7 loss to Burlington.

Ty DePerno, West Ranch (California)

DePerno, a Navy signee, went 3 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs in a 6-5 victory over Royal.

Coen Evrard, Floyd Central (Indiana)

Evrard issued one walk, struck out 14 and didn’t allow a hit as Floyd Central edged Charlestown, 1-0. The junior left-hander is committed to Evansville.

Yoan Feliz, Vineland (New Jersey)

Feliz belted a pair of home runs — including a go-ahead blast in the seventh inning — and finished 3 for 4 with six RBIs in an 8-4 win over Millville.

Bo Hickman, Snow Canyon (Utah)

Hickman won the javelin competition at the BYU Invitational with a top throw of 207-5, the third-best mark nationally this season.

Bjorn Johnson, Lincoln (Washington)

Johnson struck out 12 in 6 2/3 shutout innings, surrendering just three hits and two walks as Lincoln defeated Garfield, 6-0. The senior left-hander is an Auburn signee.

Josh Knoth, Patchogue-Medford (New York)

Knoth, an Ole Miss signee, struck out 19 of the 21 batters he faced en route to a perfect game against Riverhead. Patchogue-Medford won 10-0.

Jaden Lippett, Winter Haven (Florida)

Lippett became the fifth 50-foot triple jumper in the country this spring with a top mark of 50-0.75 at the Class 4A Region 2 championships.

Walker Martin, Eaton (Colorado)

Martin went 4 for 4 with three home runs and eight RBIs in a 13-3, five-inning win over Brush. Martin, an Arkansas signee, leads the country with 16 home runs this spring.

Ross Norman, Ringgold (Georgia)

Norman threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and a seventh-inning walk as Ringgold blanked Columbus, 6-0. Norman is a Georgia State signee.

Bryce Ruland, Waterford (Wisconsin)

Ruland took over the top spot in the national discus rankings with a throw of 208-10 at the Arrowhead Myrhum Invitational.

Ryan VandenBrink, West Linn (Oregon)

VandenBrink went 4 for 4 with two doubles and a home run in an 11-1 victory over Lake Oswego. VandenBrink, a junior, is committed to Oregon State.
