San Diego Section girls volleyball: Torrey Pines headlines 10 teams to watch

With the high school volleyball season in full swing, here's a look at 10 girls volleyball teams to watch in the San Diego Section.

1. Torrey Pines

The top-ranked Falcons are looking for their 6th Open Division Championship in 7 seasons.

2. Cathedral Catholic

The Dons only two losses on the season have come at the hands of #1 Torrey Pines.

3. La Jolla Country Day

D1 quarterfinalists last season, the Torrey’s return 97-percent of their kills.

4. La Costa Canyon

The Mavericks have split early season matchups with La Jolla and La Jolla Country Day so far this season.

5. Bishop’s

The Knights only return 5 players from last season, though 1st Team All-CIF Selection Brooke Buchner is one of them.

6. San Marcos

Early season wins over Carlsbad and Sage Creek among the Knights 11 wins to date.

7. La Jolla

29-6 last season, but the Vikings were beaten in the 1st round of the Open Division.

8. Rancho Bernardo

Sophomore Keelan Williams has 74 kills so far on the season.
