LOS ANGELES -- Monday marked the first day of Los Angeles Unified schools not being in session due to the coronavirus outbreak. LAUSD schools, as well as many other districts across the region, will be closed for at least the next two weeks.

High school sports have been suspended indefinitely throughout the region during this time. The CDC has recommended cancelling all events of 50 or more people for the next eight weeks, which puts the spring high school season at risk of being canceled.

CIF Section Commissioners and the State Office have meetings on March 17 and 18 to determine next steps in terms of what postseason play would look like if abbreviated seasons took place.
