Here are Scorebook Live's All-Southern Section girls basketball teams for the 2019-2020 season. The primary criteria for the awards were team success, statistics, strength of schedule, and intangibles. ALL-SOUTHERN SECTION GIRLS BASKETBALL

FIRST TEAM:

G Vanessa DeJesus – Sierra Canyon – SR.

The 5-star Duke commit was one of the best guards in the country for Sierra Canyon.

G Asia Avinger – Rosary Academy – SR.

Asia Avinger, Rosary Academy

The San Diego State commit led Rosary Academy to back-to-back CIF Division I Southern Region championships.

G Joy Campbell – Etiwanda – SR.

One of the best under-the-radar basketball stars in SoCal, Campbell led Etiwanda to the CIF Open Division regional semifinals.

G Jayda Curry – Corona Centennial – JR.

Curry averaged 22.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game in one of Centennial's best seasons in recent history.

F/G Rayah Marshall – Lynwood – JR.

Marshall averaged over 18 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals per game as Lynwood made the Southern Section Open Division field.

F Juju Watkins – Windward – FR.

Juju Watkins, Windward

Watkins had a freshman season for the books, averaging well over 20 PPG for the Open Division finalist in both the Southern Section and CIF state playoffs.

F Brooke Demetre – Mater Dei – JR.

The 5-star Stanford commit was dominant as Mater Dei broke through to win a Southern Section title.

C Kiki Iriafen – Harvard-Westlake – JR.

Iriafen was arguably the most dominant player in the Southern Section for Division 1 champion Harvard-Westlake. She averaged 23.5 points, 15.1 blocks, 2.1 steals, and one block per game and was named Mission League MVP.

SECOND TEAM:

G Sydney Gandy – Orangewood Academy – SR.

One of the best shooters in SoCal, Gandy led Orangewood Academy to a Division 2-AA title.

G Alyssa Frescas – Mater Dei – JR.

Frescas was one of the best shooters in SoCal and arguably the region's top shooting guard throughout Mater Dei's dominant season and title run.

G Alexis Mead – M.L. King

Mead averaged close to 15 PPG and led King in assists.

G/F Lily Buggs – Long Beach Poly – JR.

Buggs led Poly with 11.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game on a team-high 48% shooting from the field, and was named Moore League Player of the Year. She also averaged 2.9 steals per game and was one of the best defenders in the section.

G/F Parker Montgomery – Marlborough – SR.

Marlborough's all-time leading scorer is another candidate for best SG in SoCal and is committed to UCSD.

G/F McKayla Williams – Windward – SR.

One of the most versatile players out there, Williams is committed to Gonzaga.

F/C Alexis Whitfield – Chaminade – SR.

The reigning Division 1 Player of the Year is a high-4-star prospect and can play all three frontcourt positions fluidly.

F/C Ugonne Onyiah – Roosevelt – SR.

The 5-star prospect committed to Cal over roughly a dozen other schools and averaged 14.2 points and 15.5 rebounds per game.

THIRD TEAM:

G Ashley Chevalier – Sierra Canyon – SR.

G Anaya James – West (Torrance) – JR.

G Chloe Briggs – Ontario Christian – FR.

G Kaitlyn Chen – Flintridge Prep – SR.

G/F Khylee Pepe – Bishop Montgomery – JR.

G/F Guadalupe Vasquez – Cantwell-Sacred Heart – SR.

F Michelle Duchemin – Windward – SR.

F/C Jorday Holmes – Glendora – SR.

F/C Gabriella Jaquez – Camarillo – SO.

F/C Jaachi Nwanevu – Roosevelt – JR.

C Clarice Akunwafo – Rolling Hills Prep – JR.

HONORABLE MENTION:
