Nelson was named the California Gatorade Football Player of the Year as a sophomore.
Class of 2023 Los Alamitos quarterback Malachi Nelson committed to the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday. He made the announcement on social media.
Nelson was named the California Gatorade Football Player of the Year as a sophomore after throwing for 1,513 yards and 23 touchdowns. He led Los Alamitos to a 6-0 record. Last weekend, Nelson and his Griffins team won the Mission Viejo 7-on-7 passing tournament championship. (Watch those highlights here.)
