CIF Southern Section 2021 high school football playoff scores, brackets: First-round updates, upsets (Nov. 5)
The 2021 CIF Southern Section Section high school football playoffs kicked off Friday night (Nov. 5) with games across 13 Divisions. (The Division 1 playoffs don't start until Nov. 12.)
There were a few big upsets in the first round, including Muir falling 40-7 to Highland in the Division 7 playoffs. Muir (7-2) was the No. 1 seed in D7, but did not play last week after canceling its game against Pasadena because of COVID health and safety protocols.
La Habra also pulled off a No. 16 over No. 1 upset, knocking off top-seeded Tustin 31-14 in the Division 5 playoffs. La Habra (6-5) will play Valencia (5-5) in the second round.
