A week after transferring from Warren High School to Long Beach Poly High School, Nico Iamaleava, one of the top quarterback prospects nationally in the 2023 class, committed to the University of Tennessee on Monday. He made the announcement on Instagram.
The 6-foot-6 Iamaleava completed 162 of 272 passes for 2,244 yards, 33 touchdowns and one interception in his junior season at Warren. He played his first high school season at Poly before transferring to Warren for his sophomore and junior seasons.
Rated a 5-star quarterback by the major recruiting sites, Iamaleava has received scholarship offers from just about every top Division I football program in the country. He chose Tennessee over Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and a host of other premier programs.
