Meet SBLive's 2021-22 All-San Diego Section Girls Basketball Teams

It's a common occurrence for the CIF San Diego Section to be home to some of the best teams and players in all of high school girls basketball. And the 2021-22 season was no different. With that being said, here are SBLive's first ever All-San Diego Section girls basketball teams – First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mentions.

The main criteria for our end-of-season awards are players' overall impacts on winning, with an emphasis on individual statistics and team success relative to strength of schedule. Any other intangible or non-statistical contributions that substantially influenced team success were considered. Awards and achievements such as all-CIF or all-league honors were taken into account as minor criteria, and players' postseason contributions were considered substantially.

FIRST TEAM ALL-SECTION:

G Jada Williams – La Jolla Country Day – JR.

Williams, a 4-star UCLA commit, averaged 11.4 points, 4.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game to help lead the Torreys to an Open Division title. While her stat line wasn't eye-popping, her tremendous basketball IQ was vital to LJCD's dominance on both ends of the floor.

G Jessica Grant – Mission Hills – SR.

Grant led the Grizzlies to the Open Division section finals on career-highs of 17.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game in addition to 3.2 RPG and 2.1 SPG. Shooting a career-high 41.5% from deep, she led the country with 162 (reported) made threes to finish her career with 486 makes – the most in CIF history. Grant was also the only player in the country to hit five threes a game (5.1) across 20 games or more, and the UCSB commit's offensive gravity with or without the ball was a crucial part of Mission Hills' title run.

G Izzy Navarro – Cathedral Catholic – SR.

The LMU commit averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 steals, and career-highs of 6.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game for the No. 3 team in the section. Navarro finished her high school career with a line of totals that few can compete with: 1,471 points, 456 rebounds, 492 assists, 402 steals, and 120 blocks.

G Angie Robles – Bishop's – SR.

One of the top perimeter scorers in all of California this season, Robles was the section's reported leader (by a wide margin) with 28.6 PPG and 716 total points. She did it while setting new career-highs of 49% FG, 42% 3FG, and 54% EFG, and also averaged six rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 3.4 steals per game.

G/F Taj Roberts – La Jolla Country Day – SO.

Roberts was second on the section's top dog with 14 PPG and 3.5 APG to go with 4.6 rebounds and a team-high two steals per game. The 4-star SG guarded one through four to help anchor one of the state's best defenses.

G/F Mahliya Wilson – Bonita Vista – SO.

Wilson emerged as one of the top wings in the section to help keep the young Barons in the Open Division, averaging 20.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 1.9 assists per game. She scored at least 15 points in every single game after the start of the new year.

C Ice Brady – Cathedral Catholic – SR.

Brady, a 5-star UConn commit and McDonald's All-American, averaged career-highs of 20.7 PPG, 3.3 APG, and 1.5 SPG to go with 12.8 boards and 1.8 blocks per game. She helped lead the Dons to the CIFSDS Open Division semifinals and Open Division State playoffs, and was also named to SBLive's First Team All-State.

C Breya Cunningham – La Jolla Country Day – JR.

The 5-star C averaged led the Open Division champs with 18.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game to go with 1.5 SPG. She shot over 64% from the field to help the Torreys to a top-10 ranking in the country.

C Emmy Stout – Maranatha Christian – SO.

The only First Team member not in the Open Division or Division 1, Stout had arguably the top stat line in the section to lead the Eagles to a dominant Division 3 title run. She averaged 21.7 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game on 58% shooting and scored in double figures in 28 of 29 games she played in.
