Highlights and photos: Westview pulls ahead late for 5-4 win over Sage Creek in Palomar League play

Ryan Isbister drove in the game-winning run with a two-out single in the sixth inning.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Westview jumped out quick on Friday afternoon, scoring once in the first inning and three more times in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead over Sage Creek in game two of the three-game Palomar League series. Sage Creek, however, answered right back, scoring four times in the top of the third inning all with two outs to even the game at four.

The score stayed knotted at four until the bottom of the sixth inning when senior center fielder Ryan Isbister lined a two-out single to center that scored Gavin Jensen to put the Wolverines ahead for good.

Junior left-hander Ryan Herrod took the mound in the top of the seventh for Westview and struck out two, working around an error and a hit batsmen to earn the save. The two teams will conclude the series on May 11, the regular season finale for both.
