The Monarchs won two out of three games against Santa Margarita last week to return to the rankings.

SBLIVE SOUTHERN SECTION TOP 25 BASEBALL RANKINGS

April 4, 2022

1. Orange Lutheran (15-2)

Last week: 1

The Lancers have won all four of their Trinity League series to begin the season.

2. Yucaipa (13-2)

Last week: 2

Yucaipa walked off to beat No. 4 Harvard-Westlake 6-5 on Feb. 15. Last week, the Thunderbirds beat Redlands twice.

The Trailblazers have two MLB Draft prospects in senior pitchers Jaden Noot and Kassius Thomas and so far the two aces have led Sierra Canyon to an undefeated start. The Trailblazers took down Valencia 9-2 last week.

4. Harvard-Westlake (15-5-1)

Last week: 4

Harvard-Westlake has won eight of their last nine Mission League games, but star outfielder Toussaint Bythewood injured his wrist last week, according to Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times, and may miss the rest of the season.

5. Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) (15-4-1)

Last week: 5

The Knights went 1-1-1 against No. 4 Harvard-Westlake in their series in March and since then, Notre Dame has won 11 of 12 Mission League games.

6. JSerra (12-9)

Last week: 8

JSerra swept No. 7 Servite last week to move to No. 6 this week.

7. Servite (8-6)

Last week: 6

A week after sweeping No. 14 Santa Margarita, Servite lost three in a row to No. 6 JSerra last week.

8. Villa Park (14-2)

Last week: 9

Villa Park is red hot. The Spartans have won 11 of their last 12 games.

9. Arlington (18-1)

Last week: 10

Arlington has beaten No. 15 King this season. The Lions are currently on an 18 game win streak.

10. Huntington Beach (12-4)

Last week: 12

Huntington Beach has won eight games in a row since starting the year 4-4.

11. Foothill (13-6)

Last week: 13

Foothill finished off its three game sweep of No. 24 El Dorado in Crestview League play last week.

12. Cypress (13-3-2)

Last week: 14

Cypress has won nine of its last 10 games.

13. Tesoro (16-1)

Last week: 15

Tesoro's best win came against No. 16 St. John Bosco 4-3 on Feb. 24. Since then, the Titans have won 12 out of 13 games.

14. Santa Margarita (13-5)

Last week: 7

Santa Margarita swept No. 6 JSerra three weeks ago, but got swept by No. 7 Servite two weeks ago. Last week, the Eagles lost two out of three games against No. 22 Mater Dei.

15. King (10-4)

Last week: 11

King beat No. 10 Huntington Beach 2-0 on March 9th. The Wolves have won both of their Big VIII series so far this season against No. 19 Norco and Corona Centennial two games to one. This week, King plays a three game series against Roosevelt.

16. St. John Bosco (11-6)

Last week: 16

St. John Bosco stays at No. 16 this week after losing three in a row to No. 1 Orange Lutheran.

17. South Hills (14-3)

Last week: 18

South Hills has won nine games in a row.

18. Norco (15-3)

Last week: 19

The Cougars lost twice to No. 15 King this season to drop their Big VIII series two games to one. Both of those defeats were decided by one run. Norco begins a three game series with No. 21 Corona this week.

19. Torrance (18-1-1)

Last week: 20

Torrance's only loss this season came against No. 11 Foothill.

20. Hart (13-7)

Last week: 21

The Indians have beaten No. 5 Notre Dame this season and should now rack up wins in the Foothill League. As of April 4th, Hart is 6-0 in league play.

21. Corona (11-4)

Last week: 22

Corona lost two out of three games against Santiago two weeks ago, but the Panthers have a chance to move up further in the rankings this week. Corona begins a three game series against No. 18 Norco on Monday.

22. Mater Dei (10-7)

Last week: NR

Mater Dei took two of three games from No. 14 Santa Margarita last week, which propelled the Monarchs back into the Top 25.

23. Garden Grove Pacifica (13-6)

Last week: 23

Pacifica has beaten No. 24 El Dorado and No. 25 Trabuco Hills this season.

24. El Dorado (12-8)

Last week: 24

El Dorado beat No. 12 Cypress 3-2 two weeks ago, but lost two straight to No. 11 Foothill last week.

25. Trabuco Hills (14-3)
