Dylan Williams, 2024 Long Beach Poly 4-star linebacker, commits to USC Trojans

2024 Long Beach Poly High School linebacker Dylan Williams announced his commitment Monday morning

The pipeline from Long Beach Poly High School to the USC Trojans football program is strong.

And will remain so in the future.

Having already secured the commitment of 2024 Long Beach Poly four-star wide receiver Jason Robinson, Lincoln Riley again struck gold from a familiar talent goldmine.

On Monday morning, consensus four-star linebacker Dylan Williams announced his commitment to USC over early offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Michigan State, Oregon State, TCU, Utah and others.

Williams actually committed Saturday during a short trip to USC's campus.

"I had went up there for practice and to player meetings," he said. "We got to the field we watched practice, then after I let coach Odom know I was committed. It was all jokes and laughs. He gave me a hug and shook my hand, then he took me to coach Lincoln Riley. Coach Riley was so excited when I told him."

Rated the nation's No. 14 linebacker, Williams announced his commitment on social media with a message thanking those close to him.

"First, I want to start by thanking God for every single blessing bestowed upon me," he wrote. "I would like to thank my mom, dad, grandparents, aunties, my uncle, and my sisters for everything they've done for me (and) always being there for me. I would like to thank coach Rashad Wadood for mentoring me (and) pushing me every single day. I would like to thank coach Barbee, coach Singh, coach Josiah, coach Rene, coach Ron, MS, Sanchez, coach D, my teammates and the rest of my Long Beach Poly family for helping me reach my academic (and) athletic goals. I also want to thank coach Donte (Williams), coach (Brian) Odom, and coach Lincoln Riley for believing in me and giving me the chance to play at the next level. I've come a long way from my dad taking me to Victoria Park when I was 11 to try out for the Carson Colts. Humble as ever (and) still have a lot more to prove. With that being said, I will be staying home and committing to... The University of Southern California."

For Williams, a big part of the early commitment was Riley's clear appreciation of the Long Beach Poly pipeline.

"It means a lot to me," he said. "I know how much I mean to the USC program, and how wanted I am by them. They will develop me right at USC."

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound 'backer is the third commitment in USC's 2024 recruiting class, joining Robinson and Calabasas four-star athlete Aaron Butler.
