Jason Steele, Murrieta Valley 3-star offensive lineman, commits to Boise State Broncos over Pac-12 offers

Three-star offensive lineman Jason Steele committed to Boise State over Arizona State, California and others

Murrieta Valley High School interior offensive lineman Jason Steele visited Boise State in late March and knew he'd found home.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound center waited a couple of weeks, but the feeling never wore off.

On Tuesday, Steele announced his commitment to Boise State over offers from Arizona State, California, San Jose State and others:

"Today was the day because I feel extremely confident in my decision," he said. "I have everything I need in Boise, so I felt that it was the right time to commit"

In truth, Steele's late March trip was the clincher.

"Everything about Boise State was amazing," he said. "I really felt at home and the coaching staff and other commits really helped me realize that. I love the way [offensive line] coach (Tim) Keane develops his guys. Coach (Andy) Avalos and (offensive coordinator Tim) Plough are amazing people and I know I can trust them to lead the team in regards to coaching. They really believe in me and my abilities and I felt really wanted throughout the recruiting process."

So eager is Steele to become a Bronco that he will be graduating high school this winter and enrolling early at Boise State - with a likely January move-in date.

Steele is rated the nation's No. 52 interior offensive lineman.

He is the third pledge in Boise State's 2023 recruiting class, joining Basha (Arizona) three-star linebacker Wyatt Milkovic and Rancho Cucamonga (California) three-star quarterback CJ Tiller.
