Rashid Williams, Pittsburg 4-star wide receiver, blown away by Stanford visit; Oregon, Washington up next

Pittsburg High School four-star wide receiver Rashid Williams is one of the top playmakers in the state of California, which has made him a coveted prospect, particularly in the Pac-12 Conference.

Hoping to get some clarity on his recruitment, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound pass-catcher recently took an unofficial visit to Stanford and came away impressed.

"Stanford was fire," Williams said. "It was super dope. They offer a really good education and great Pac-12 football. I want to explore all of the offers I’ve received and make sure I’m making the correct decision for the next four years. Obviously, Stanford is top tier, but I want to explore all of my options."

The California product will head North soon for a pair of trips to the University of Oregon (Monday) and the University of Washington (Tuesday).

Williams said he wasn't offered by Oregon during the Mario Cristobal era, but that has changed significantly under Dan Lanning.

"Coach Junior Adams is super cool," he said. "Coach (Kenny) Dillingham came down to Pitt and watched me workout before I got the offer. Now, I can’t wait to get up to see the school." 

Washington will be up next, 

"I haven’t been up there (yet), but I love the coaching staff and [associate head coach/wide receiver coach Jamarcus] Shephard is my guy," Williams said. "I can't wait to see the place."

Rated the nation's No. 24 wide receiver and No. 235 overall prospect, Williams is sure to have an active recruitment.

But it's just getting started, and will take a big step forward with his Northwest swing in the coming days.
