Congratulations to St. Augustine baseball 3B/1B Frankie Giacalone for being voted SBLive’s Southern California High School Athlete of the Week for April 4-10!

The junior had three doubles and a home run to help the Saints beat Madison at Petco Park.

Giacalone received 46.15% of the vote, beating out Maranatha Christian's Nico Newhan who finished second with 34.02% of the vote. Eastlake's David Vargas finished third with 9.79% and Christian's Shane Bailey finished fourth with 5.68%

Austen Roellig, Etiwanda baseball: Roellig had three hits, a home run and a stolen base in Monday's shutout of Los Osos.

Grant Gray, Norco baseball: Gray had four hits, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 8-7 win over Corona.

Zachary Anderson, Temecula Valley baseball: Anderson had a home run and a double in Tuesday's loss to Vista Murrieta.

Elijah Clayton, Oaks Christian baseball: Clayton had four hits including a home run and a double in Tuesday's win over Thousand Oaks.

Anthony Reveles, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame baseball: Reveles had a home run and two double in Tuesday's 4-3 win over Loyola.

Nico Newhan, Maranatha Christian baseball: Newhan had seven hits last week including four home runs and two doubles in two wins over Orange Glen.

Jordan Mahan, Mar Vista baseball: Mahan had three doubles and a stolen base in Monday's win over Southwest San Diego.

Kyle Becker, Del Norte baseball: Becker had two hits including a grand slam in Monday's win over Vista.

Jimmy Roman, Hoover baseball: Roman had seven hits in last week's series against Kearny, finishing with two doubles and seven runs batted in.

Shane Bailey, Christian baseball: Bailey had three hits, a double and a stolen base in Monday's shutout over Clairemont.

David Vargas, Eastlake baseball: Vargas tossed a one-hit shutout against Montgomery, striking out four batters.

AJ Guiliana, Torrey Pines baseball: Guiliana had a home run, a double, two singles, and a stolen base against Carlsbad on Tuesday.

Jocelyn Jimenez, Granada Hills Charter softball: Jimenez had a home run and a triple in Monday's win over Chatsworth.

Cynthia Carrillo, El Camino Real softball: Carrillo had three hits including two triples against Birmingham.

KaiLea Reyes, Santa Paula softball: Reyes had five hits including a home run and a triple and drove in four runs against Nordhoff on Monday.

Samantha Bland, Chino Hills softball: Bland was a single shy of the cycle and drove in three runs against Rancho Cucamonga on Monday.

Madison Zulager, Moorpark softball: Zulager had two hits including her eighth home run of the season against Simi Valley on Monday.

Kamryn Caldwell, Citrus Valley softball: Caldwell hit three triples against Yucaipa on Wednesday.

Vanessa Flores, Cajon softball: Flores hit a walk-off solo home run to beat Beaumont 1-0 in nine innings on Wednesday.
