SYLMAR, Calif. -- Daniel Vergara threw six scoreless innings and struck out eight in a 3-0 win over Sylmar on Saturday. The victory gave Marshall a City Section leading 18th win in a row.
"He had a good day," Marshall head coach Bryan Akasaka said of Vergara postgame.
In the top of the seventh inning, Marshall's Ivan Torres hit an RBI single to put the Barristers up 1-0. Two batter later Geovanny Hernandez popped up a two-RBI double that the Sylmar left fielder lost in the sun making the score 3-0 Marshall.
