Twentynine Palms' Kate Bobadilla (23 points) and Bishop's' Angie Robles (18 points) were named co-MVPs.

FULLERTON– 24 of the top seniors in high school girls basketball from across Southern California took part in the inaugural SBLive-HIU All-Star Game on Saturday, May 7, and the road team pulled out a gripping 91-82 victory.

Twentynine Palms' Kate Bobadilla (23 points) and Bishop's' Angie Robles (18 points) of the road team led the game in scoring and contributed in numerous other ways en-route to being named co-MVP. Both of them scored 15 points in the second half alone.

Both teams at one point led by upwards of 15 points before erasing the deficit. After the road team started the game in dominant fashion, Troy's Isabella Pearson (who scored a team-high 17 points) helped lead the home squad on a tremendous run in the middle quarters that left the road team at risk of falling out of the game. But the road team went on an explosive run for the second time to catch back up and build a comfortable lead by final minute or two, going on to win 91-82.

Layla Curry of Corona Centennial and Halle Sii of Capistrano Valley Christian were also both in double-figures for the road team while also making defensive plays and grabbing numerous rebounds. The team was coached by Stan Delus of Etiwanda and Sara Brown of Fairmont Prep.

Taylor Feldman (Crean Lutheran) and Hannah Stines (Orangewood Academy) were second and third on the home team with 15 and 14 points, respectively, and another five players on that team scored between four and nine points. The home team was coached by Matt Tumambing (Ontario Christian), Bianca Ziemann (Crean Lutheran), and Kerwin Walters (Sage Hill).
