TOP 25 RIGHT-HANDED PITCHERS IN SAN DIEGO SECTION HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Koda Alto – Santana – Senior

Alto was a first team All-San Diego selection after his junior year and followed it up with a 7-3 record this season. He finished the year with an ERA of 2.47.

Tyler Arnold – Rancho Bernardo – Sophomore

Rancho Bernardo

Arnold nearly duplicated his numbers as a freshman, finishing with a 4-0 record and an ERA of 1.69. He struck out 45 batters in 49.2 innings and issued only 11 walks.

Tyler Bremner – Scripps Ranch – Senior

Bremner has attracted scouts to his games all season and delivered with an ERA of 0.90. The UC Santa Barbara-signee finished the year 4-2 and struck out 87 batters in 54.1 innings.

Jackson Bush – Santa Fe Christian – Senior

Bush threw 62.1 innings for the Eagles this season including a 14-strikeout no-hitter against Escondido Charter. The Cal State Northridge commit finished the year with 75 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA.

Manny Butler – St. Augustine – Senior

Butler has thrown just under 100 innings for the Saints over the past two seasons. This year he went 7-3 with a 2.93 ERA and struck out 67 batters.

Roni Chutke – La Costa Canyon – Senior

After only throwing three innings as a junior, the Mavericks have relied heavily on Chutke this season. He's delivered by going 6-0 with a 1.55 ERA and has struck out 41 batters in 40.1 innings pitched.

Julian Custer – Francis Parker – Junior

Custer doubled his innings this season, finishing with a 6-0 record and a 2.39 ERA for the Lancers. He struck out 68 batters in 55.2 innings.

Sebastian De La Toba – Olympian – Senior

De La Toba has made 14 appearances for the Eagles this season, pitching 66.2 innings. He's gone 3-0 with a 1.89 ERA and has struck out 65 batters.

Cody Delvecchio – Mission Hills – Senior

Delvecchio began his senior season with a 13-strikeout game against Chaparral and closed out his high school career with a 14-strikeout complete game shutout of Otay Ranch. The UCLA-signee was 6-2 with a 1.12 ERA and struck out 131 batters in only 75 innings.

Ryan Ellis – Patrick Henry – Senior

Ellis was limited to only 40.1 innings this season but did not allow more than two earned runs in any of his eight appearances. He finished his senior year with a 1.21 ERA and 43 strikeouts.

Jeremiah Goodwin - Oceanside - Senior

Goodwin was a workhorse for the Pirates this season, finishing with an 8-2 record and an ERA of 1.32 over 74.1 innings.

Chandler Henry – Granite Hills – Sophomore

Henry has already tossed 86 innings in his first two varsity seasons. The San Diego State commit has gone 7-1 with a 2.87 ERA so far this year.

Adrian Herrera – Montgomery – Senior

Herrera allowed more than one run only once all season. In ten starts for the Aztecs, he tossed 66 innings and struck out 75 batters, finishing with an ERA of 0.53. He closed out the regular season by throwing a no-hitter against Eastlake to claim the Metro Mesa League title.

Zach Isaacman – Torrey Pines – Senior

Issacman went 8-2 last season with a 1.21 ERA and has followed it up by going 5-1 this season with a 1.44 ERA.

Ashton McCurty – Christian – Sophomore

McCurty, along with Vaughn Major and Shane Bailey, formed an excellent rotation for the Patriots. He finished the season 7-1 with a 1.54 ERA and struck out 58 batters in 50 innings.

Chaz McRoberts – St. Augustine – Senior

Like his teammate Manny Butler, McRoberts has been a workhorse for the Saints over the past two seasons. The Loyola Marymount-signee went 6-2 with a 3.09 ERA this year and struck out 45 batters.

Lawson Minshew – Madison – Junior

Minshew nearly doubled his strikeouts from a year ago, striking out 66 batters in 54.1 innings. He finished the season with a 7-0 record and a 2.71 ERA.

Peyton Rodgers – Torrey Pines – Sophomore

Rodgers has been a great reliever out of the bullpen to compliment a loaded Falcons rotation. In 33.1 innings the San Diego State commit has an ERA of 1.05 and 39 strikeouts.

Zach Small – Oceanside – Sophomore

Small is 6-2 with a 1.34 ERA for the Pirates this season and has thrown two no-hitters against Valley Center.

Kevin Steel – La Jolla – Senior

Steel doubled his workload from last season and responded by going 9-2 for the Vikings. He had an ERA of 1.87 and struck out 75 batters in 60 innings.

Hugo Tafoya – Southwest El Centro – Junior

In addition to hitting .408 for the Eagles, Tafoya struck out 90 batters in 56.1 innings. His final appearance of the season was a one-hitter over Coronado in the Division 2 play-in game.

Nico Tomasello – Granite Hills – Junior

Tomasello has thrown 48.2 innings in his first varsity season for the top-ranked Eagles, going 7-1 with a 2.88 ERA and 46 strikeouts.

Eric Van Valkenburg – Torrey Pines – Senior

Injuries limited Van Valkenburg to just 15 innings last season. The Oklahoma-signee has bounced back this season, striking out 72 batters in 50.1 innings to go along with a 1.39 ERA.

Tanner Vielguth – Granite Hills – Senior

Vielguth has both started and relieved for the Eagles this season. In 32.2 innings, he's struck out 26 batters and has a 1.07 ERA. Vielguth has signed with UT-Permian Basin.

Chris Williams – Francis Parker – Junior 

Williams followed up his strong sophomore season by going 4-2 this year with a 1.98 ERA and 70 strikeouts.
