SOCAL TOP STARS (May 23-28)

Juan Garcia, Narbonne baseball: Garcia threw six shutout innings against Taft on Tuesday, striking out six in the LA City Section semifinals.

Anthony Cardenas, Garfield baseball: Cardenas tossed a complete game shutout, striking out five batters in Tuesday's 3-0 semifinal win over Bell.

Octavio Bonilla, Chatsworth baseball: Bonilla drove in two runs in the seventh inning and scored the winning run as the Chancellors beat Roosevelt in the LA City Section semifinals on Wednesday.

Jose Ruedas, Chatsworth baseball: Ruedas threw a complete game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out six batters in Saturday's 2-0 win over Birmingham at Dodger Stadium.

Johan Ceja, Birmingham baseball: Ceja hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to propel the Patriots past El Camino Real 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Gabe Camacho, La Costa Canyon baseball: Camacho hit a game-tying home run in the top of the seventh inning of Friday's San Diego Section Open Division championship game. He then entered in the bottom of the eighth on the mound and got the final two outs of the game.

Nico Libed, Eastlake baseball: Libed had a hit, three walks, five stolen bases and four runs scored in Thursday's 11-inning win over Grossmont in the San Diego Section Division 1 championship game.

Sam Garewal, Canyon Crest baseball: Garewal was nearly perfect in the San Diego Section Division 2 championship game, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out 11 in a 2-0 win over Montgomery.

DJ Cardinal, Del Norte baseball: Cardinal hit a solo home run in Tuesday's win over Montgomery.

Chris DiPrima, Del Norte baseball: DiPrima struck out eight batters over five shutout innings during Tuesday's 2-0 win against Montgomery.

Angel Laya, Mission Bay baseball: Laya went 4-5 with two runs and two runs batted in against San Ysidro in Tuesday's CIF semifinal game.

Josh Morgan, Mission Bay baseball: Morgan's two-run single gave the Buccaneers their first lead of the day in Friday's CIF Division 4 championship win over Fallbrook.

Barron Zamora, Grossmont baseball: Zamora homered in both elimination games against Cathedral Catholic last week, helping the Foothillers advance to the San Diego Section Division 1 championship game.

Camden Burdick, Carlsbad baseball: Burdick had three hits including a home run in Tuesday's win over Eastlake.

Hailey Davis, Boron softball: Davis allowed one hit and struck out 14 batters in Monday's playoff win over Bishop Union.

Ellyanna Cinzori, San Dieguito Academy softball: Cinzori had three hits including a double and a triple and drove in three runs in Tuesday's come back win over Palo Verde Valley.

Baylee Howley, Fallbrook softball: Howley had three hits and a walk in Thursday's 8-0 win over Foothills Christian.

Jade Wrege, Rancho Buena Vista softball: Wrege had two hits inlcuding a home run in Tuesday's come back win over Torrey Pines.

Mallory Axline, Cathedral Catholic softball: Axline had three hits, three runs batted in and a home run during Tuesday's 11-1 win over Brawley.

Abby Steffen, Eastlake softball: Steffen hit a two-run home run in the first inning of Tuesday's 3-2 win over Steele Canyon.
