Vote now: Who was the best softball player in the North Coast Section in 2022?

We released our All-North Coast Section Softball Team last week, and now it's your turn to vote on who was the best softball player in the CIFNCS in 2022.

The poll closes at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 7.

P Taylor Rodriguez – Livermore – SR.

A Dominican (California) commit and the 49ers Cal-Hi Sports NCS Pitcher of the Year, Rodriguez was a two-way force in leading Livermore to an EBAL title and the Division 2 semifinals. She led the section with 24 wins, 327 strikeouts, and a 1.15 ERA in 188 innings, and also hit .393 with team-highs of 27 RBIs, seven home runs, and 1.167 OPS.

P Kira Morris – Eureka – SR.

Morris led the Loggers to a 27-3 record and the Division 3 finals going 24-2 with a 1.31 ERA and 263 strikeouts in 171.1 innings. She also led the section with 54 RBIs while also hitting .505 with seven homers, a 1.458 OPS, and 36 runs scored.

P Cassiti Baroni – Fort Bragg – JR.

In 148 innings of work, Baroni went 20-4 with a 0.85 ERA and 21 K's for the Division 4 finalist. She also hit .453 with two long balls and 30 RBIs, and scored 25 runs.

P Sadie Leonard – Redwood – SR.

Leonard, a Williams College commit and the MCAL Pitcher of the Year, went 19-5 with a 0.73 ERA in 152.2 innings. She fanned 318 batters, and was also a strong offensive contributor with 25 RBIs.

P Kasey Aguinaga – Heritage – SR.

After missing some of the season with an arm injury, the Boise State commit was one of the best pitchers in the section upon returning in late March. Through Heritage's section championship, Aguinaga was 12-0 with a 1.00 ERA, and was particularly dominant in the Division 1 champs' postseason run. Aguinaga was also a great hitter in a very small sample size throughout high school, hitting .538 in 13 at-bats in 2022 and possessing a career OPS of 1.440.

P Raimy Gamsby – Vintage – SR.

Gamsby went 8-3 with an 0.82 ERA and 193 strikeouts in 93.2 innings through the first round of the playoffs for the D1 semifinalist. She also contributed on offense at times, and will play college ball at Rutgers.

P Rose Malen – Marin Catholic – SR.

Malen went 17-4 with a 0.71 ERA and 284 strikeouts in 157 innings. She was also one of the Division 2 semifinalist's best hitters with a .329 BA and 26 RBIs.

P Braxton Brown – Benicia – JR.

Brown helped lead the Panthers to a Division 2 title by going 20-4 in the circle and batting .337 with six homers and 23 RBIs.

P Kailani Tatro – Pinole Valley – JR.

Tatro hit .512 with five long balls, 12 doubles, and 48 RBIs for the 24-3-1 Division 3 semifinalists. She also went 23-3 with 230 K's and a 1.48 ERA in 165 innings in the circle, and didn't make an error all season.

P Paige McLeod – San Ramon Valley – JR.

McLeod helped lead the Wolves to the Division 1 semifinals hitting .400 with five five home runs and 23 RBIs. She was also stellar in the circle, particularly down the stretch of the season, registering a 1.35 ERA in 160.2 innings.

P Jade Johnson – James Logan – SR.

The San Francisco State commit helped power the Colts to the D1 semifinals batting .567 BA with four home runs, 29 RBIs, and a 1.540 OPS. Additionally, Johnson went 12-3 pitching with a 1.07 ERA in 98 innings of work.

P Thomara Drummer – San Rafael – FR.

Drummer was one of the premier freshmen in California high school softball to steer the Bulldogs to a Division 3 championship. She hit .500 with 17 doubles and 35 RBIs, and recorded 157 K's and a 1.08 ERA in 110.1 innings.

P Shelby Morse – Vintage – SR.

Morse, an Embry-Riddle commit, caps off the laundry list of outstanding two-way threats in the North Coast Section last season. She batted .513 with seven homers, 26 RBIs, and a 1.424 OPS, and also allowed only three earned runs all season in 62 innings, good for an astounding 0.34 ERA to go with 111 strikeouts.

C McKenna Beach – Eureka – SR.

Beach hit .593 with four home runs, 22 total extra-base hits, a 1.638 OPS, 31 RBIs, and 41 runs scored for the Division 3 finalist. The Cal Poly Humboldt signee also swiped 11 bases and had a .997 fielding percentage on the season.

INF Jordan Woolery – Clayton Valley Charter – SR.

The UCLA commit batted .652 with eight homers, 24 total extra-base hits, 40 RBIs, an enormous 1.980 OPS, and 33 runs. Woolery is also a Golden Glove-caliber defensive shortstop.

INF Tianna Bell – Heritage (Brentwood) – SR.

The Cal signee led the CIFNCS Division 1 champion with a .577 batting average, nine home runs, a 1.668 OPS, and 39 runs scored. Bell is also known as an outstanding defensive player manning the hot corner.

INF Emma Jackson – Salesian College Prep – JR.

Jackson, a Boston College commit, was dominant both at the plate and on the base paths. In just 22 games she hit .617 with eight homers, 34 RBIs, and a 1.636 OPS, and also stole a whopping 41 bags on her way to scoring 46 runs.

INF Alex Cutonilli – Heritage – JR.

The Saint Mary's commit was another driving force for the Division 1 winner, hitting .520 with five home runs, a 1.513 OPS, and a team-high 35 RBIs. Cutonilli was also a defensive lynchpin with the ability to play anywhere in the infield.

INF Raegan Jackson – American Canyon – SR.

One of the only players in the section with an OPS above 2.000, Jackson batted .582 with 10 homers, 26 total extra-base hits, and 37 RBIs. The CSUN commit also stole 15 bases and scored 33 runs.

INF Tiare Guerrero – Rancho Cotate – SR.

Guerrero hit .631 with a 1.432 OPS, and stole 27 bases on her way to scoring 33 runs. She is committed to Holy Names.

OF Soo-Jin Berry – Clayton Valley Charter – JR.

Berry hit .520 with three home runs, a 1.533 OPS, 10 stolen bases, and 26 runs scored in just 16 games. She's an Iowa commit.

OF Mickey "Mickey" Winchell – Granada (Livermore) – SR.

A Notre Dame commit and the 49ers Cal-Hi Sports co-Player of the Year, Winchell hit .527 with eight home runs, 35 RBIs, and a 1.438 OPS for the Division 1 finalist. She also stole 26 bags and went on to score 46 runs.

OF Sammy Horn – Marin Catholic – JR.

Horn hit .541, stole 14 bases, and scored 27 runs for the Division 2 semifinalist. She's committed to Boston College.
