MORE: LAST WEEK'S RANKINGS
1. St. John Bosco (1-0 – 1st)
The Braves blew out Texas powerhouse Allen 52-14. You didn't expect anything else, did you? They take on Bishop Amat this week.
2. Mater Dei (2-0 – 2nd)
From one highly-anticipated matchup to the next: Mater Dei takes on Centennial this week after surviving national No. 4 Bishop Gorman last week in a thriller.
3. Corona Centennial (2-0 – 3rd)
The Huskies nearly made major history last fall in a 21-16 CIFSS Division 1 semifinals loss to Mater Dei. Now they get another crack at them in what could be an era-defining win for them.
4. Mission Viejo (2-0 – 4th)
The Diablos avenged a 44-7 loss to Servite last season with a 42-23 win last week. They have a chance to pick up some serious momentum this week hosting Long Beach Poly.
5. Los Alamitos (1-1 – 5th)
Los Al was beaten soundly by Florida powerhouse American Heritage, but stayed competitive and had numerous good moments despite the 56-27 score. This Saturday it faces another elite out-of-state squad: Basha (AZ).
6. Santa Margarita (2-0 – 6th)
Santa Margarita showed out in a 36-14 rout of Norco on Friday.
7. Orange Lutheran (2-0 – 7th)
Orange Lutheran's 23-21 win against Edison last season was one of its marquee wins of the regular season. It will be a light favorite against the Chargers again this week.
8. Long Beach Poly (2-0 – 8th)
If Long Beach Poly can upset Mission Viejo this week, it would be one of its biggest regular season wins in years. Expect a heated battle.
9. Bishop Amat (2-0 – 9th)
So far so good through two games for the Lancers. It's a heavy understatement to say they'll be major underdogs this week with St. John Bosco coming to town.
10. Simi Valley (2-0 – 14th)
Two games, two blowout wins for Simi Valley. A third straight one is likely this week, but its upcoming foe, Royal, looks like a potential sleeper.
11. Chaminade (2-0 – 17th)
Chaminade turned heads last week to come back from 21-0 down against JSerra. It'll be the heavy favorite against Birmingham.
12. JSerra (1-1 – 10th)
Blowing a big lead last week must've felt awful for the Lions, but they're still off to a very good start. This week they look to bounce back against Newport Harbor.
13. Inglewood (2-0 – 15th)
Last week, Inglewood absolutely trounced one of the better team's in Nevada, Foothill. This week it partakes in one of the most intriguing Southern vs. San Diego matches of the regular season, a date with Carlsbad.
14. Edison (2-0 – 16th)
Edison handled a dangerous Leuzinger squad 31-22 last week. This week's matchup against Orange Lutheran is one of its biggest tests of the season, and could prove to be a huge statement win.
15. Corona del Mar (2-0 – 18th)
CdM has been very impressive through two games, most recently heading to NorCal to defeat Los Gatos 28-14. This week is Palos Verdes.
16. Serra Gardena (0-2 – 12th)
The Cavaliers are off to a rough start, but playing OLu and Poly will do that to just about anyone. Look for them to bounce back this week against Cathedral.
17. Warren (1-0 – 19th)
The Bears survived a 32-26 upset bid from La Serna last week. They face Grossmont of the San Diego Section on Friday.
18. St. Bonaventure (1-1 – 20th)
It's official – St. Bonaventure is still the best team in Ventura County until further notice after outdueling Pacifica (Oxnard) last week. (Look out for Oaks Christian though.) This week could bring another big win for the Seraphs as they head to San Diego to face Lincoln.
19. Norco (0-1 – 13th)
Last week was tough for the Cougars. They got waxed by a team they beat comfortably a year ago, which is never a good sign. But that team happens to be Santa Margarita, so it's safe to say they'll live. This week brings a high-profile battle against Rancho Cucamonga, which may be ready to flip the script in this matchup.
20. Rancho Cucamonga (2-0 – 21st)
In the yearly battle one might dub as the Cougar Cup, Rancho has lost three straight against Norco by a combined score of 170-86. This time around, however, there's no major favorite or underdog coming in.
21. Cajon (1-0 – 22nd)
Cajon came out with a bang, routing an underrated opponent in Jurupa Hills 34-0. Now it's on to Arizona for what should be a good battle versus Williams Field.
22. Apple Valley (1-1 – 23rd)
When Apple Valley defeated Murrieta Valley 27-14 last season, it was by many measures the best win in school history. After losing a nail-biter against Rancho last week, it would be another major statement for the Sun Devils if they can make it two straight against the Nighthawks.
23. Aquinas (1-0 – 24th)
Aquinas is coming off a bye-week and likely to move to 2-0 against Xavier Prep.
24. Oaks Christian (1-1 – Unranked)
Don't look now, but Oaks might be quickly returning to the elite tier of SoCal football teams. After nearly knocking off Chaminade in Week Zero, it cruised past Sierra Canyon last week on the road.
25. Yorba Linda (2-0 – Unranked)
Yorba Linda's regular season winning streak is up to a dozen games. It could be tested this week against Orange. Both of their last two meetings have been wild affairs that ended up as Mustang victories.
Sierra Canyon, Murrieta Valley, Ayala, Vista Murrieta, Alemany
