The running back and strong safety has piled up 407 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in five games — all victories — plus he's added 47 tackles on defense.
No wonder his team is No. 10 in the SBLive Northern Section football rankings and outscored opponents 175-38.

That's how many votes McCarty collected in the SBLive Northern California Athlete of the Week contest for football games played Sept 15-17.
McCarty, who also plays football, was handpicked as one of more than 30 finalists for the weekly award. He then gathered 61.2 percent of the vote, easily beating out runner-up William Augensten, a quarterback from Branham-San Jose, who garnered 24.6 percent of the vote.

London Alexander, a junior receiver and defensive back for Justin Garza-Fresno, had six catches for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-24 win over Coalinga. He also had four tackles and an interception on defense and returned three kicks for 80 more yards.
AJ Anderson, the Central Section’s leading rusher for Tehachapi, rushed 11 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns, added six tackles and a sack on defense, in a 28-10 win over Arvin.
William Augenstein, a senior quarterback at Branham-San Jose, rushed 27 times for 158 and three touchdowns and three for 66 more yards in a 28-13 win over Leigh-San Jose. Augenstein has now accounted for 1,008 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Luke Baker, a senior quarterback at San Ramon Valley-Danville, completed 16 of 17 passes for 252 yards and two scores leading the Wolves to a 41-17 win over Las Lomas. For the season, Baker is 58-for-75 for 886 yards and eight TDs.
Max Bakker, quarterback at Central Valley Christian-Visalia (5-0), accounted for five touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Mission Oak.
Reid Black, a sophomore quarterback for King’s Academy-Sunnyvale, completed 16 of 21 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for a score, in a 33-29 win over Hillsdale-San Mateo.
Curron Borders, a 5-7, 190-pound senior for Antelope, rushed 25 times for 181 yards and three touchdowns, and added two tackles and an interception on defense, during a wild 48-42 win over Roseville.
Charles Brown, a senior running back at Antioch, rushed 33 times for 341 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers lost 36-35 to California-San Ramon.
Sonjay Burton, a senior receiver at Sunnyside-Fresno, had six catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-12 win over Madera South.
Ethan Conley, a receiver for Miramonte-Orinda, had nine catches for 235 yards and four touchdowns in a 64-42 loss to Oakdale.
Brian Delte, Cameron Guthrie and Jace Rau, all running backs for Oakdale, combined to rush for 523 yards and eight touchdowns in a 64-42 win over Miramonte.
Luke Duncan, a senior quarterback at Miramonte-Orinda and UCLA Commit, threw for 420 yards and five touchdowns in a 64-42 loss to Oakdale.
Dean-Taylor Chapman, a senior running back at Moreau Catholic-Hayward, rushed 16 times for 230 yards and touchdowns of 69, 89 and 20 yards in a 21-0 win over Benicia.
Arthur Draeger, a 5-11, 185-pound senior running back/middle linebacker for Liberty Ranch-Galt, rushed 27 times for 215 yards and three touchdowns, and added 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception on defense in a 33-6 win over Tokay.
Grant Foster, a senior quarterback for Orland, rushed 25 times for 225 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-13 win over Shasta.
Marino Fragata, a junior QB at Hiram Johnson-Sacramento, passed for 516 yards and seven more touchdowns in a 54-27 win over Galt. He’s up to a state-best 1,678 yards and 22 touchdowns for the season.
Brandon Graydon, a senior quarterback/free safety for Roseville, accounted for 326 yards and six touchdowns in a 48-42 loss to Antelope. He also had four tackles on defense and added two punts for 82 yards.
Matt Greco, a receiver for Marin Catholic-Kentfield, caught 11 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-12 win over James Logan-Union City.
Charles Greer, senior tailback at De La Salle-Concord and a Fresno State commit, rushed 22 times for 211 yards and touchdowns of 83 and 69 yards in a 28-20 win at defending state 1-AA champion Cathedral Catholic-San Diego.
Drew Harrigan, a 5-11, 205-pound junior running back for Mission Prep-San Luis Obispo, rushed 28 times for 210 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-27 win over Santa Ynez.
Matt Long, a 6-foot, 185-pound junior receiver from Vista del Lago-Folsom, had nine catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-21 win over Sacramento. Long, who has 12 TD catches on the season, also had a sack and caused a fumble on defense.
Nathan Martinez, a senior safety for Woodlake, had three interceptions in a 28-16 win over Lindsay.
Robbie Mascheroni, a senior wide receiver for Campolindo-Moraga, caught just three touchdowns but all were for touchdowns covering 165 yards in a 35-20 win over San Leandro.
Caleb Matthews, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound sophomore quarterback for Justin Garza, completed 20 of 26 for 320 yards and five touchdowns, and rushed 15 times for 84 yards in a 39-24 win over Coalinga.
Darian Mensah, a senior QB at St. Joseph-Santa Maria, threw for four TDs in a 42-0 win over Nipomo.
Ferrari Miller Jr., a senior running back for McClymonds-Oakland, rushed 12 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Tamalpais-Mill Valley.
PJ Modena, a running back for Half Moon Bay, rushed 30 times for 287 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner late during a 37-30 win over Mountain View.
Nassir Pitters, a senior at Berean Christian-Walnut Creek, scored all four touchdowns in a 27-21 win over defending state champion Salesian-Richmond. He returned a punt for a score, intercepted a pass, caught a two-point conversion and three TD passes.
Devon Rivers, a senior running back and Fresno State commit for Heritage-Brentwood rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-0 win over Vintage-Napa. He leads the North Coast Section with 991 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
Malakhi Statler, a junior quarterback for Frontier, threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for a score in a 35-21 win over Independence.
John "Sharky" Tamale, a sophomore linebacker for McClymonds-Oakland, had 13 tackles in a 49-7 win over Tamalpais-Mill Valley.
Tanner Wilson, a sophomore QB at Sunnyside, completed 24 of 33 for 457 yards and seven touchdowns in a 52-12 win over Madera South. He leads the Central Section with 1,431 passing yards and 17 TDs.
