There wasn't a ton of celebrating on the Pittsburg sideline or postgame huddles on Friday.

Yes, the Pirates 39-21 win was over a quality opponent in 4-time state champion McClymonds-Oakland and they scored the games final 17 points when the Warriors challenged.

But as head coach Vic Galli said, "we haven't put all three phases together yet.' He called parts of Pittsburg's game 'scary,' but not in a good way.

Budha Boyd Jr. and Khai Taylor were both highly engaged and flashed big wide smiles. Both played huge roles in the win with Taylor hauling in two touchdown passes from Jaden Rashada, and Boyd catching-and-running with one score, then making perhaps the biggest defensive play, with a fumble recovery in the middle of the third quarter.

Both were eager to share the limelight and praise teammates with blocks on their touchdowns on wide receiver screens.

Taylor also gave animated answers to questions about his bloodlines — his father and grandfather (Lionel Taylor) both played in the NFL — and his future school, the University of Nevada.
