The St. John Bosco vs. Mater Dei high school football showdown has finally arrived.
The top two high school football teams in the nation kicked off Friday night at 7:30 p.m. from the Santa Ana Bowl in Southern California.

FINAL: Mater Dei 17, St. John Bosco 7 - LIVE BOX SCORE
TOUCHDOWN MATER DEI! Sophomore RB Jordon Davison puts the game away with a 38-yard touchdown run to give Mater Dei a 17-7 lead with 1:01 left. Davis has 22 carries for 114 yards.
Mater Dei just converted a key third and short and it looks like they'll be able to run the clock out. There's 1:45 on the clock and St. John Bosco only has two timeouts left.
MATER DEI 10, ST. JOHN BOSCO 7: Andre Medina kicks a 22-yard field goal to give Mater Dei the lead with 7:10 left in the game.
Mater Dei QB Elijah Brown almost threw an interception in the end zone on 2nd and goal.
Mater Dei has the ball at midfield to start the final quarter.

TOUCHDOWN ST. JOHN BOSCO! Cam Jones caps off a 9-play, 85-yard drive with a 6-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 with 3:42 left in the third quarter.
St. John Bosco is on the move midway through the third quarter, trying to tie this game up. Cam Jones just reeled off a tackle-breaking 26-yard run.
St. John Bosco has the ball to start the second half, but is playing without starting quarterback Pierce Clarkson. According to his father, Clarkson is in concussion protocol and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Just like our reporters predicted, this is a defensive battle folks. Mater Dei still leads 7-0 with under two minutes left in the first half.
