Here are the candidates for SBLive’s California High School Coach of the Week for Oct. 6-8 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote below. THIS WEEK’S CALIFORNIA COACH OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Jeff Bailey, Yorba Linda: Bailey won his 100th career game at Yorba Linda in a 48-7 victory over Esperanza.  

Floyd Burnsed, Acalanes-Lafayette: The 75-year-old coach from Acalanes-Lafayette is not slowing down. The Dons improved to 6-0 with a 42-0 win over Las Lomas-Walnut Creek.

Chuck Chastain, Norco: Chastain led Norco to a 77-76 overtime win over Murrieta Valley. The game broke the previous record for most points scored in a Southern Section football game. Chastain decided to go for two after scoring a touchdown in overtime and the Cougars converted to win.  

Chris Combs, Enterprise-Redding: The sixth-year coach at Enterprise-Redding, improved the Hornets to 6-0 with a surprisingly lopsided 31-0 win over Pleasant Valley-Chico. Enterprise utilized a completely balanced offense (157 yards rushing, 154 passing) and a stellar defense to win going away.

Mitch Donnelly, Westview: The Wolverines booted a late goal to beat Vista 45-42 to earn their first win of the season. 

Tony Franks, St. Mary’s-Stockton: The longtime St. Mary’s-Stockton coach beat De La Salle for a first time after nine straight losses, 45-35, to emerge as the possible leader to claim the Northern California Open Division spot. The Rams improved to 7-0 and if they run the table, including a win over Folsom in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, they are positioned now to claim NorCal’s top spot.

Mark Grieb, Sacred Heart Prep-Atherton: The sixth-year coach at Sacred Heart Prep-Atherton led the Gators to a 17-7 win over previously unbeaten Half Moon Bay, which the previous week defeated Menlo-Atherton. The Gators (5-1) have won five straight since a 13-12 season opening loss to defending state champion Sacred Heart Cathedral. The small school has big wins over much larger schools Los Gatos (10-7) and Riordan (35-7). Grieb coached the Gators to a CIF State 5-A title last year.

Tony Peralta, Elsinore: Under the direction of Peralta, Elsinore upset previously unbeaten Orange Vista 23-22 to take control of the Ivy League. 

Michael Peters, McClymonds-Oakland: A week after losing a tough, physical game to state-ranked Pittsburg, the Warriors defeated previously undefeated San Ramon Valley-Danville 45-42 in the Bay Area Game of the Week. With several key players out with injury, McClymonds managed to rush for a staggering 477 yards in the wild win.

Bruce Rollinson, Mater Dei: The Monarchs played very well in a 17-7 win over arch rival St. John Bosco. Rollinson's teams have beaten St. John Bosco five of the last six times the squads have faced off. Following the victory, the Monarchs are the new No. 1 team in the nation.
