California football: How SBLive's Top 25 Fared (Oct. 13-15)
Ayala of Chino Hills (6-2) was one of two teams in the SBLive California Power 25 rankings to drop to a team outside of the elite.
Ayala, ranked 24th, lost 32-29 to Charter Oak-Covina, which came into the game 7-0. Look for the Chargers to move into the Power 25 next week and Ayala (6-2) to fall out. But not by much.
The other Top 25 team to lose to a non-ranked team was No. 15 Serra-Gardena (4-4), which continued its up-and-down season with a tough 35-21 loss to Sierra Canyon-Chatsworth, which has also had a crazy season. The Trailblazers improved to 4-4.
The biggest game of the week was Thursday when No. 5 Los Alamitos sped by No. 8 and previously unbeaten Edison-Huntington Beach, 52-27.
