Los Al shined against Edison in the top CIFSS game of the week

The ninth week of the high school football season featured rivalry games for conference titles throughout much of SoCal. There are still two weeks left in the regular season, but league title races and playoff bubbles are starting to get ironed out.

With that said, here's a look at the top storylines last week (Oct. 13-15) in CIF Southern Section football. All rankings referenced pertain to SBLive’s Southern Section rankings unless noted otherwise.

It's a three-peat for the Griffins in the Sunset League. And whereas Edison played them down to one score the past two seasons, the Griffins rolled to a 52-27 victory on Thursday night.

Despite dealing with injuries, WR/CB Makai Lemon and RB Damian Henderson were dominant. Henderson ran for over 250 yards, and Malachi Nelson threw 3 touchdown strikes.

The Mission League race is now 'Nade's to lose. Chaminade defeated Bishop Amat 36-29 on Friday in the school's first ever win at Kiefer Memorial Stadium.
