California: How Top 25 high school football teams fared (Oct. 20-22)

No. 17 Sierra Canyon shocks No. 8 Chaminade-West Hills 49-14 with LeBron James in the house

There were very few surprises among California's Top 25 teams during the ninth (for most teams) week of the season.

Sierra Canyon-Chatsworth, the state's No. 17 team, has been peaking of late so defeating No. 8 Chaminade-West Hills wasn't a big surprise. The score — 49-14 — however was a big shocker.

The fact LeBron James was in attendance may have surprised many, but according to Tarek Fattal, his nephew plays for Chaminade so it wasn't a complete shocker. Two of James' sons, Bronny and Brice, play basketball at Sierra Canyon.

The only other surprise came at No. 24 week where Norco lost big to an unranked team.

Otherwise it was blowout city, with eight teams registering at least 50 points in blowout wins, including five shutouts, topped off with Mission Viejo's 71-0 win Tesoro.

Fourth-ranked Long Beach Poly not only recorded a 56-0 win over Compton, but became the winningest program in California history.
