SBLive’s San Diego Section Top 10 Boys Basketball Rankings: Lincoln debuts at No. 10

Lincoln's winning streak now sits at 14 straight games following their win over El Camino at Saturday's Battle at the Bay.

SBLive’s San Diego Section high school boys basketball rankings are compiled by SBLive California reporter Bodie DeSilva and will be released every Monday throughout the winter 2022-23 season.

1. St. Augustine (22-4)

The Saints got back into the winner's column with league victories against Patrick Henry and Hoover last week. They'll have two chances to snag an outright Western League title this week when they host Cathedral Catholic and Mission Bay.

2. Carlsbad (21-5)

Carlsbad dropped their first Palomar League game on Wednesday, falling to La Costa Canyon, 69-65. They'll finish the regular season with trips to Torrey Pines and El Camino.

3. Montgomery (22-4)

Montgomery had their 17-game winning streak snapped at the buzzer on Saturday, losing to Santa Fe Christian, 70-69. They'll be on the road at Bonita Vista and San Ysidro to finish the regular season, needing just one win for an outright league championship.

4. La Costa Canyon (14-11)

La Costa Canyon vs. Rancho Christian 2-4-23 Bodie DeSilva

The Mavericks added 6'10" volleyball player Wesley Smith to the roster and immediately saw an impact. They began the week by taking down Carlsbad on the road and finished the week 2-1, beating Mission Hills on Friday and losing to Rancho Christian on Saturday. San Marcos and Torrey Pines are up this week in the final week of Palomar League play.

5. Santa Fe Christian (24-4)

The Eagles controlled Saturday's showdown with No. 3 Montgomery but needed a buzzer-beating shot by junior Greyson Mundis to take down the Aztecs, 70-69. They'll participate in the Coastal League tournament this week before CIF playoffs begin.

6. San Ysidro (15-11)

San Ysidro won their first two games of the week before dropping Friday's league game against Mater Dei Catholic. They'll close out the regular season with two more league games including a rematch against No. 3 Montgomery that went in favor of the Aztecs the first time around.

7. Mater Dei Catholic (20-7)

The Crusaders swept their three league games last week including an impressive 92-86 win at San Ysidro on Friday night. They'll finish up the regular season when they host Olympian on Wednesday.

8. Torrey Pines (18-8)

Torrey Pines dropped their first home league game since 2012-13 on Wednesday, falling 57-49 to Mission Hills. They rebounded strong by beating El Camino and San Diego later in the week thanks to back-to-back 30-plus point performances from senior JJ Bartelloni.

9. Mission Bay (19-7)

The Buccaneers went 2-1, dropping Friday's Western League game to San Diego in overtime, 76-72. They'll host Hoover on Tuesday before traveling to No. 1 St. Augustine on Friday night to close out the regular season.

10. Lincoln (23-2)

Lincoln beat La Jolla on Friday night to stay unbeaten in the City League and followed it up by beating El Camino on Saturday in their most impressive victory of the season.
