Look: Brady Dunlap, Harvard-Westlake knock off West Ranch in CIF playoff showdown

Highlights from two nationally ranked CIF Southern Section foes

Brady Dunlap and Jacob Huggins helped Harvard-Westlake to a bounce-back 59-50 win over West Ranch in CIF Southern Section Open Division pool play.

Dunlap, a 6-foot-7 three-star wing who de-committed from Notre Dame in late January, had a game-high 20 points, Jacob Huggins added 16 and Trent Perry scored 14 for Harvard-Westlake (30-2), the No. 14 ranked team in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25.

West Ranch (29-2) is ranked No. 20 after the loss.

Playoff implications

Based on a tie-breaker point criteria, it was neither Harvard-Westlake or West Ranch to advance, but instead St. John Bosco. The Braves will play Pool A winner, top seed and defending state Open champion Corona Centennial, in the Feb. 25 championship game at Honda Center.

All Open Division teams move on to the CIF Southern California Regional starting Feb. 28, so the Wolverines and Wildcats continue their season.
