Salesian senior Nyana Asiasi is SBLive's Northern California Athlete of the Week (Feb. 6-12)

Nyana Asiasi is winding down a fantastic career.

The fourth-year starter for the Salesian-Richmond girls basketball team drilled four 3-pointers and a team-high 19 points in a 63-30 win over Pinole Valley last week to claim the Tri-County Athletic League Rock Division tournament title.

That put Asiasi on the SBLive Top performers list and then she put up bigger numbers by piling up 74 percent of the votes to win the Northern California Athlete of the Week Award for the week of Feb. 6-12.

Here were the other athletes who were nominated for the week of Feb. 6-12.

Tyler Barnett, the King’s Academy boys basketball star scored 21 points twice including a big 61-54 triumph over rival Priory.

Ryan Beasley, the high-scoring Dougherty Valley boys basketball star had 42 points in a stunning 86-83 EBAL Tournament semifinal win over San Ramon Valley then backed it up with 24 points (13 in the fourth quarter) of a 77-70 championship game win over Granada.

Sofia Bowes, a girls basketball standout for San Ramon Valley, had a team-high 17 points leading the Wolves to a 63-52 win over Monte Vista in the East Bay Athletic League title game.

Jake Davis, a senior at red hot Las Lomas, scored 62 points — 31 in each game — in wins over Clayton Valley Charter and College Park. He made a combined 21 of 35 shots in the two wins.

Alli Dioli, a senior for Half Moon Bay’s girls basketball team, combined for 45 points last week in wins over Terra Nova and Westmoor. She averages 18.8 on the season.

Leilani Edinburgh, a girls basketball standout at West Campus (Sacramento) had a combined 50 points with 12 rebounds, nine assists and 22 steals in two victories last week.

Lloyd French, a boys basketball player for Downey (Modesto), had 38 points, 15 rebounds and five assists in a 75-57 win over Modesto, followed up with 30 points in a 57-54 victory over Turlock.

Jaden Haire, a boys basketball player for Hanford West, had a combined 54 points and 36 rebounds in two victories.

Kellen Hampton, a top sophomore prospect from Moreau Catholic, continued to star with a combined 52 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and five blocks in wins over Irvington (78-57) and American (72-43).

Brynlie Headrick, a girls basketball standout at Vacaville, combined for 51 points in a win and a loss last week. She averages 22 points per game this season and 14.8 per her four-year career.

Alyssa Jackson, a top girls basketball prospect at Vanden, scored 50 points with 10 3-pointers to go along with 14 steals in a 112-8 win over 1-20 Armijo, followed up with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and seven steals in a 74-17 win over Rodriguez.

Rosalynn Jimenez, a basketball player for Hayward’s girls basketball team, had 22 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in a 64-29 win over St. Joseph-Notre Dame.

Elizabeth Johnson, a two-sport standout for Orcutt Academy, had a combined 43 points, 30 rebounds and six blocks in two victories last week.

Talia Maxwell, high school girls basketball player for Central (Fresno) had a combined 49 points, 20 rebounds and five steals in two wins. She is averaging 23.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game for the 18-11 Grizzlies.

Jocelyn Medina, the Northern Section’s leading scorer for Pierce (Arbuckle), had 36 points, 19 rebounds and five steals in a 53-13 win over Live Oak.

Amanda Muse, a UCLA-signee girls basketball player for Heritage, had 21 points and 17 rebounds in a 62-41 regular-season ending win over Liberty.

Ronnie Roche, a basketball player for Kings Christian (Lemoore) combined for 78 points in three games, two wins and a loss. He also combined for 16 rebounds, nine assists and five steals.

Kenyah Stubbs, a basketball star for Hanford, had 27 points, six rebounds and four steals in a 53-45 win over Mission Oak. Stubbs is averaging 28.4 points and 5.9 steals per game in 27 games.

Tounde Yessoufou, the sophomore boys basketball phenom for St. Joseph-Santa Maria, had a combined 74 points on 31 of 47 from the floor, to go with 24 rebounds, five assists, eight steals and four blocks in wins over Arroyo Grande (77-49) and Atascadero (92-42).
