FHSAA 4A girls basketball semifinals: Lake Highland Prep, Calvary Christian Academy cruise to state championship game
LAKELAND, Fla. - The 2022 Florida high school girls basketball state tournament continued on Thursday at the RP Funding Center with the 4A, 5A and 6A semifinals.
In the Class 4A semifinals, Lake Highland Prep and Calvary Christian Academy advanced to Saturday's state championship game.

Class 4A semifinal No. 1: Lake Highland Prep 73, Booker (Sarasota) 51
The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders are back in the state championship for the fifth consecutive year.
The Highlanders got off to a blazing start, jumping out to a 27-10 lead after the first quarter. It was never close after that.
The Highlanders were led by Louisville commit Nyla Harris, who finished with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Eleecia Carter added 14 points and sophomore guard Bri Rivera added 11, including three 3-pointers.
The Lady Tornadoes were led by junior forward Chariot Johnson, who finished with a team-high 16 points. Leah DuBose scored 9 points and Jakai Peterson added 8.

Class 4A semifinal No. 2: Calvary Christian Academy 49, Bishop Kenny 37
The second semifinal in Class 4A featured first-time representative Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale) vs. Bishop Kenny, who was making its fourth Final Four appearance.
Led by North Florida commit Maddie Millar, the Lady Crusaders came into Thursday afternoon’s semifinal on a 17-game winning streak, which marked the longest winning streak by any team in the state tournament.
But they were stymied by Calvary Christian Academy's tough defense, which held them to just 37 points.
The Lady Eagles were led by senior guard Samiyah Briggs, who finished with a game-high 17 points and 5 rebounds. Markell Jones-Tynes added 11 points.
The Lady Crusaders were led by Millar’s 12 points, on just 4-of-18 shooting from the field and 3-of-12 from long range. Junior guard Sophia Rueppell added 11 points, and sophomore forward Clare Coyle added 6 points.
The Eagles will seek their first state championship in school history when they face nationally ranked Lake Highland Prep in the 4A state title game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
