As part of our end-of-season all-state awards, SBLive will recognize the top players and coaches around the state in Florida high school basketball for their phenomenal performances during the 2021-22 season.

The following standout student-athletes have been named finalists for SBLive’s Florida High School Boys Basketball 4A Player of the Year, which honors the state’s most valuable player on the court in Class 4A.

Before we release our awards, we want your opinion. Who do you think should be the 4A Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Year?

SBLIVE’S FINALISTS FOR 4A BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

Matthew Able, Fr. (Parrish Community)

Able finished his freshman season averaging 16.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Justin Abson, Sr. (North Broward Prep)

The Appalachian State commit averaged 14.8 points and 10 rebounds per game this season for the Eagles.

Christian Bibbs, Sr. (North Bay Haven)

Bibbs averaged 23.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season for the Buccaneers.

DJ Brown, Sr. (Brooksville Central)

Brown averaged 14.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.2 steals per game this season.

Gregg Glenn II, Sr. (Calvary Christian Academy- Fort Lauderdale)

Glenn II averaged 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season, leading the Eagles to their 2nd straight state championship.

Taylor Hendricks, Sr. (Calvary Christian Academy- Fort Lauderdale)

Hendricks averaged 15.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season, leading the Eagles to their 2nd straight state championship.

Tre Joyner, Sr. (Brooksville Central)

Joyner averaged 19.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game leading the Bears to their first region final appearance in school history.

Michael Kalina, Sr. (North Broward Prep)

Kalina averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season for the Eagles.

Tray’von Osborne, Sr. (Discovery)

Osborne finished the season averaging 21.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season for the Spartans.

Stephon Payne, Sr. (Andrew Jackson)

Payne averaged 10.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this season, leading the Tigers to a state runner-up finish.

Jah Quinones, Sr. (Lake Highland Prep)

Quinones, a Mercer commit finished the season averaging 8.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and nearly four assists per game.

Brice Sensabaugh, Sr. (Lake Highland Prep)

The Ohio State signee averaged 24.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season for the Highlanders reaching the state semifinals.

Jerome Wallace, Sr. (Miami Killian)

Wallace averaged 12.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game this season for the Cougars.

Sam Walters, Jr. (The Villages Charter)

Walters averaged 24.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season for the Buffaloes.

Deondrian Washington, Jr. (Bay- Panama City)

Washington averaged 17.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this season for the Tornadoes.
