Meet SBLive's 2021-22 All-State Florida boys basketball teams: Brice Sensabaugh is player of the year

Here's a look at SBLive Florida's all-classification postseason awards for FHSAA boys basketball.

Seven state champions were crowned in early March in Florida high school boys basketball.

Columbus, Martin County, Stranahan, Calvary Christian, Florida High, Orlando Christian Prep and Bradford claimed the ultimate team prize in their respective divisions.

Now it's time to hand out some individual awards.

Here's a look at our all-state teams spanning all FHSAA classifications, plus our awards for Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Underclassman of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: 

Brice Sensabaugh, Lake Highland Prep

The Ohio State signee finished the season averaging 24.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, leading the Highlanders to a state semifinal appearance.

UNDERCLASSMAN OF THE YEAR: 

Karter Knox, Tampa Catholic

Knox, only a sophomore, averaged 20.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season leading the Crusaders to their fifth final four appearance in the last seven seasons.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: 

Cameron Boozer, Columbus (Miami)

Boozer averaged 18.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game this season leading the Explorers to their first state title in school history.

COACH OF THE YEAR: 

John Leon, Martin County

Leon led the Tigers to the school’s first state championship in 43 years. The Tigers finished with a 27-4 record, which is tied for the most wins they’ve recorded in a season since 2012.


FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE

EJ “Jizzle” James, Olympia

James led the Titans averaging 25.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, leading them to a region semifinal appearance.

Taylor Hendricks, Calvary Christian Academy

The UCF signee finished his senior season averaging 15 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, as the Eagles won both a state title and the State Champions Invitational.

Brice Sensabaugh, Lake Highland Prep

Sensabaugh averaged 24.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season, leading the Highlanders to a state semifinal appearance.

Sean Stewart, Windermere

The Duke commit averaged 20.5 points and 13.6 rebounds per game this season for the Wolverines.

Sam Walters, The Villages Charter

Walters averaged 24.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season for the Buffalo.


SECOND TEAM ALL-STATE

Jaylen Carey, Westminster Academy

Carey averaged 17.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game this season for the Lions.

Tristan Gross, St. Petersburg

The 6-5 junior guard averaged 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and nearly two steals per game for the Green Devils. Gross also led the Green Devils to the school’s first state championship game appearance since 2016.

Jamier Jones, Sarasota Riverview

Jones averaged 20.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this season, leading the Rams to a 21-8 record.

Riley Kugel, Dr. Phillips

The Mississippi State signee averaged 16.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, leading the Panthers to the state championship game.

Ernest Udeh Jr., Dr. Phillips

Udeh finished the season averaging 13.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for the Panthers.


THIRD TEAM ALL-STATE

Justin Abson, North Broward Prep

The Appalachian State signee averaged 14.8 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Eagles this season.

Cameron Boozer, Columbus (Miami)

Boozer averaged 18.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game for the Explorers, leading them to the school’s first state championship.

Isaac Celiscar, Winter Haven

Celiscar averaged 18.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils, leading them to a state semifinal appearance.

Karter Knox, Tampa Catholic

Knox averaged 20.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the Crusaders this season.

Yvens Paul, Barron Collier

Paul averaged 10.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game for the Cougars, leading them to a regional final appearance this season.


HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STATE
