Who are the top first basemen in Florida high school baseball this season?

We started with the Top 20 pitchers, then we took a closer look at the Top 20 catchers. Now, we turn our attention to the first basemen.

TOP 20 FIRST BASEMEN IN FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

1. Caden McDonald, Sickles

The 6-foot-3 junior has the state’s highest batting average, hitting .707 in 18 games played this season.

2. Jamarion Stevenson, Gadsden County

The 6-foot-1 junior has driven in 17 runs this season for the Jaguars.

3. Andrew Clymer, Lake Minneola

Clymer is tied for second in the state with five home runs this season.

4. Brantley Willis, Marianna

Willis drove in a season-high four runs on February 28, in a 12-0 win over Liberty County.

5. Elijah Scadina, Jupiter

Scadina drove in a season-high four runs on April 12, in a 12-6 win over Wellington.

6. James Hankerson, Berkeley Prep

The 6-foot-3 junior has driven in 25 runs in 20 games played this season.

7. Damien Hernandez, Mater Lakes Academy

Hernandez is second in the state among first basemen with 28 runs batted in on the season.

8. Warrick Wilmot, Arnold

Wilmot has a .391 batting average and a .487 on-base percentage in 21 games played for the Marlins.

9. Jayden Hylton, Palm Beach Gardens

Hylton has scored a team-high 28 runs this season for the Gators.

10. Trent Kelly, The First Academy (Orlando)

Kelly has a .486 on-base percentage and 17 hits through 20 games this season.

11. Landon Moran, Lake Brantley

The University of Florida signee has a .522 on-base percentage in 20 games played this season.

12. Corbin Newman, Seffner Christian

Newman, a 6-foot-3 junior, can really swing it. He has 26 hits and a .473 average through 18 games.

13. Jayden Vasquez, Jefferson (Tampa)

Vasquez has a team-high 18 stolen bases in 19 attempts this season for the Dragons.

14. Tanner Gronlund, Lake Weir

Gronlund drove in a season-high four runs on April 11, in an 18-3 win over St. John Lutheran.

15. Joshua Morrison, Gainesville

Morrison drove in a season-high seven runs back on March 22, in a 16-4 win over Orange Park.

16. Elijah Dukes, Wharton (Tampa)

Dukes, a 5-foot-11, 240-pound senior, has an on-base percentage of .529 and has not recorded an error in his last eight games.

17. Matthew Gill, Suwannee

Gill has scored a team-high 23 runs in 19 games played this season.

18. Ariel Sabatier, Dade Christian

The sophomore has a .462 batting average in 20 games played this season.

19. JD Bryan, Madison County

The 6-foot-3 junior has been on a tear in the last few weeks for the Cowboys, recording 11 runs batted in the last five games.

20. Vincent Samuel, Taravella

Samuel has an on-base percentage of .452 and drove in a season-high five runs back on March 18, in a 8-4 win over Archbishop McCarthy.
