SBLive Florida Softball Rankings (May 2): Lakewood Ranch ends regular season as No. 1 team

With the the playoffs starting this week, these are the final softball rankings of the 2022 season

Here are SBLive’s statewide Florida high school softball rankings, which span all classifications. SBLive’s Florida softball rankings are compiled by Ross Van De Griek and will be released weekly during the 2022 season:

1. Lakewood Ranch (23-2)

Previous Rank: 1

Last Week: Defeated Sarasota 9-0, Defeated Canterbury (St. Pete) 15-0, Defeated McKeel Academy 11-0

This Week: vs Gulf Coast (Tues.)

The Lady Mustangs finish ranked at the top in the SBLive Florida softball rankings, winning 14 consecutive games.

2. Melbourne (19-2-1)

Previous Rank: 2

Last Week: Defeated Sebastian River 2-0

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Lady Bulldogs will await either St. Cloud or Sebastian River in the District 6A-11 semifinals.

3. Lake Brantley (19-4)

Previous Rank: 4

Last Week: Defeated Apopka 6-1, Defeated Winter Park 8-7, Defeated Viera 6-1

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Lady Patriots will await either Oviedo or Lake Mary in the District 7A-3 semifinals tomorrow night, after being awarded an opening round bye.

4. Parrish Community (21-3)

Previous Rank: 7

Last Week: Defeated Clearwater Central Catholic 14-0, Defeated Braden River 10-0

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Lady Bulls clinched the No. 1 seed in the District 3A-11 tournament and await the Lakewood/Clearwater Central Catholic winner in the semifinals tomorrow night.

5. Bartow (21-3)

Previous Rank: 3

Last Week: Lost to Auburndale 7-6, Defeated Hardee 2-1

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Lady Jackets enter the district tournament losing two of their last three games, will await the Ridge Community-Lake Gibson winner in the District 6A-10 semifinals tomorrow night.

6. Doral Academy (19-4-1)

Previous Rank: 5

Last Week: Lost to Palm Beach Gardens 5-3

This Week: vs TBD (Wed.)

The Firebirds clinch the No. 1 seed in the District 6A-15 tournament and earned a first round bye.

7. Cooper City (18-3)

Previous Rank: 8

Last Week: Defeated Pompano Beach 3-0

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Cowgirls are the No. 1 seed in this week’s District 6A-14 tournament and will await the Everglades-McArthur winner in the semifinals tomorrow night.

8. Coral Springs Charter (18-3)

Last Week: Defeated Wellington 7-0, Defeated Coral Glades 15-0, Defeated Boca Raton 8-0

This Week: vs TBD (Tues.)

The Lady Panthers earned the No. 1 seed in the District 3A-14 tournament and will await the Pine Crest-Cardinal Gibbons winner in the semifinals tomorrow night.

9. Berkeley Prep (22-2)

The Lady Buccaneers enter the district tournament on a six-game winning streak.

The Lady Indians clinched the No. 1 seed in this week’s District 3A-2 tournament and will await the Gadsden County-Suwannee winner in the semifinals tomorrow night.

12. Florida State University High- Tallahassee (19-2)

Last Week: Defeated Liberty County 8-0, Defeated Marianna 7-6

The Lady Noles will have their second meeting in as many games, as they host Marianna in the District 3A-2 semifinals tomorrow night.

The Lady Wolverines clinched the No. 1 seed in the District 7A-11 tournament and will await the Royal Palm Beach-Palm Beach Central winner in the semifinals tomorrow.
