Congratulations to Bishop Verot softball pitcher Victoria Ash for being voted SBLive’s Florida High School Athlete of the Week for May 2-8!

The senior struck out 13 batters in five no-hit innings back on May 4, in a 10-0 win over Gateway Charter.

Ash ran away with this week's honor, receiving 79.21% of the total vote.

Bella Dejulio, Utility (So.)- Mainland (Daytona Beach)

Dejulio struck out 13 batters in seven innings back on May 3, in a 4-3 win over Pine Ridge.

Isabella Vega, Pitcher (Jr.)- Parrish Community

Vega struck out 14 batters in a complete game performace back on May 5, in a 2-1 win over Calvary Christian.

Hannah Taylor, Catcher (Jr.)- Hernando

Taylor drove in seven runs back on May 3, in a 19-0 win over Brooksville Central.

Jalyn Sharkey, Utility (So.)- East Lake

Sharkey drove in three runs back on May 4, in a 6-2 win over Plant to capture a district championship.

Kylee Johnson- Shortstop (Jr.)- Wiregrass Ranch

Johnson went 5-of-8 at the plate in two games, including two home runs for the Lady Bulls last week.

BASEBALL

Zachary Root, Left-Handed Pitcher (Sr.) (Fort Myers)

Root struck out 12 batters back on May 5, in a 1-0 win over Charlotte.

Evan Crest, Right-Handed Pitcher (Sr.) (Wharton)

Crest sturck out 11 batters in a complete game performance back on May 3, in a 7-1 win over Mitchell.

James Hankerson, First Baseman (Jr.) (Berkeley Prep)

Hankerson drove in seven runs back on May 3, in a 11-1 win over Clearwater Central Catholic.

Traylon Ray, Outfielder (Jr.) (North Florida Christian)

Ray drove in five runs in the two games, leading the Eagles to the District 2A-1 Championship.

Hunter Dietz, Right-Handed Pitcher (Jr.)- Calvary Christian (Clearwater)

Dietz allowed two hits and one run in six innings back on May 5, in a 5-1 win over Berkeley Prep.

Chase Marsh, Pitcher (Jr.)- Mount Dora Christian

Marsh struck out eight batters in four innings back on May 5, in a 19-0 win over Hernando Christian.

Sal Stewart, Sr. (Westminster Christian)

Stewart drove in three runs back on May 3 in a 10-0 win over Somerset Academy.

TRACK AND FIELD

Skye Tolbert, Jr. (Niceville)

Tolbert finished in 1st in the Girls 100-meter hurdles (13.70 seconds) in the Class 4A, Region 1 Finals back on May 7.

Annie Loehle, Sr. (Mandarin)

Loehle finished 1st in the Girls 3200 meter finals (11:17.69) in the Class 4A, Region 1 Finals back on May 7.

Kendall Hughes, Sr. (Newsome)

Hughes finished 1st in the Girls 800-meter run finals (2:15.41) in the Class 4A, Region 2 Finals back on May 7.

Aidan Mizell, Jr. (Orlando Boone)

Mizell finished 1st in the Boys 100-meter dash finals (10.72 seconds) in the Class 4A, Region 3 Finals back on May 7.
