TAMPA, FL – The wait is over and University of Florida head coach Billy Napier nabbed another big commitment for the Gators.
Florida notched a commitment from 4-star Gaither High wide receiver/defensive back Eugene Wilson III, according to his Twitter feed Friday afternoon. Wilson III picked Florida over Texas A&M, amongst the over 25-plus offers he has nationally. It’s the third big commitment in as many days for Napier and Florida.
The Gaither senior enters the 2022 season as one of the state’s top play-makers not only on offense, but on defense as well. Wilson III on offense had 62 catches for 925 yards and seven touchdowns. On the defensive end of the ball, Wilson III had 23 tackles and four interceptions for the Cowboys.
According to 247 Sports, the Gaither senior is rated as the country’s 10th best athlete and 30th best player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2023. Gaither opens up the 2022 regular season on August 26th against Steinbrenner on the road.
