After receiving his second Power Five offer, QB switches from Middle Tennessee State

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – In what was just the second Power Five offer for Lakewood senior quarterback Anthony Colandrea, he has decided to flip from his April commitment to Middle Tennessee State.

Colandrea announced via Twitter that he would be committing to the University of Virginia on Friday. He also had offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo and Arkansas State according to 247 Sports. Virginia has 11 commitments for the Class of 2023 and Colandrea becomes the first signal caller in the class.

Last season was a breakout year for Colandrea at Lakewood, with the quarterback throwing for 3,252 yards, 27 touchdowns versus 10 interceptions on 216 passes completing out of 345 attempts in 2021. He also rushed for 362 yards and scored five touchdowns for the Spartans.

The three-star recruit now makes his commitment to Virginia official with just under a month away from high school football practices scheduled to get underway on August 1st.
