ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The decision is in for Orlando Boone senior wide receiver Aidan Mizell and it’s safe to say that he won’t be going far from home.

Mizell has chosen the University of Florida over Alabama and Tennessee, according to Hayes Fawcett via Twitter on Friday. It always seemed like the Gators had the inside track with Mizell, as his parents ran track and field for the Gators during their college careers.

The Boone wide receiver caught 47 passes for 1,003 yards and scored 18 touchdowns in the 2021 season. Compared to his sophomore season, Mizell caught 13 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, improving by 31 more receptions and 830 more through the air.

Mizell is a 4-star rated receiver according to 247Sports.com and is the 72nd ranked player in the country and 13th in the state. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver was one of the top wide outs in the state last season after having a breakout year.

The Gators now have 14 hard commits, with Mizell joining Tyree Patterson (Eustis High School) and Eugene Wilson III (Gaither High School) as the third wide receiver prospect of the University of Florida’s 2023 class.
