Who are SBLive Sports’ Florida Football Top Performers of Week 6?

These are the Big Stars and Top Performers from this week's Florida high school football action

These athletes will be featured in the Florida Athlete of the Week Poll early this week. Come back and vote for who you think should be the Athlete of the Week.

This list is not intended to be comprehensive

Brandon Inniss, Plantation American Heritage

Inniss can do no wrong. Not only can the Ohio State commitment do on the offensive end, but he proved on Saturday he can play a little defense, too. The wide receiver caught a touchdown and snagged a crucial interception in the team’s 21-2 win over Cardinal Gibbons.

Carson Hawk, South Walton

Whether it was through the air or on the ground, South Walton quarterback Carson Hawk did a little bit of both for the Seahawks last week. The dual-threat signal caller scored four total touchdowns and had near 200 yards of offense in South Walton’s 46-6 romp over Rutherford.

D’marius Rucker, Lakeland

Facing off against a rival school like Lake Gibson, Rucker and the Dreadnaughts made sure to apply no mercy versus the crosstown rivals. Rucker rushed for 190 yards and scored multiple times in a 47-14 win over the Braves.

Jay Stuckey, Port St. Joe

So Blountstown wanted to run the ball up the middle of the Port St. Joe defense but forgot one thing. Jay Stuckey is on that defensive line for the Tiger Sharks. Stuckey notched four tackles for loss in Port St. Joe’s 24-6 win over Blountstown.

Jaylin Jones, Chiles

An off night for one of the Joneses just means the other will end up having a big game. That ended up being Jaylin Jones as the running back tallied 126 yards on 16 attempts em route to Chiles’ 28-21 win over Mosley.

Xavier Blake, Wakulla

Game-winning touchdown run? No problem for Wakulla running back Xavier Blake. The senior tailback scored the go-ahead touchdown in overtime, rushing for 103 yards on 17 carries in a 21-20 overtime win over Rickards.

Ostin Perkins, Munroe

In picking up win No. 3 on the season, Munroe got a nice performance from their junior running back. Perkins ran the ball just nine times and rushed for 124 yards and scored twice in the Bobcats 54-0 win over Rocky Bayou Christian. Munroe improved to 3-2 on the season.

DJ Shorts, Niceville

Needing a touchdown to preserve Niceville’s undefeated record against rival Crestview, Shorts came through when the Eagles needed him most. The junior didn’t put up a statistical masterpiece but came up with one of Week 6’s biggest plays, scoring an 18-yard go-ahead touchdown to give the Eagles a narrow 13-9 win over the Crestview. Niceville remains undefeated at 6-0.
