THIS WEEK’S FLORIDA COACH OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Editor’s Note: Our Coach of the Week feature and corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. However, we do not allow votes that are generated by script, macro or other automated means. Athletes that receive votes generated by script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified.

Jim Pusateri, Central: The last time the Central Bears finished .500 or better was back in 2016. Pusateri has come to the Bears and improved the players numbers immensely and his team picked up a 26-14 win over Weeki Wachee in the ‘Battle of the Hexam’.

Greg Jordan, Blountstown: Revenge is sweet they say. Blountstown lost earlier in the season on the road against Port St. Joe and they returned the favor at home. Jordan’s group handed the Tigersharks a 42-14 loss.

Tim Krause, Bishop Kenny: When you haven’t beat a team since 1977, your time to finally nab a win in the series is due. Bishop Kenny defeated Bolles 14-13 for their first win over the Bulldogs in nearly 45 years.

Rod McDowell, Frostproof: In one of the top small school games around the state, the Bulldogs were able to take a tight 24-20 victory over Fort Meade. Frostproof now sits at 8-1 heading into the final week of the regular season.

Brandon Walker, Park Vista: Talk about an upset. Heading into Park Vista’s game against Santaluces, the Cobras were 1-7 on the season. Walker’s group picked up the upset 21-18 win over the previously undefeated Chiefs.

Dave Marino, Palmetto: It was never going to be easy in the battle between a couple of Manatee County’s top public schools when Palmetto and Manatee met. The Tigers defeated the Hurricanes 26-21 and won the Class 4A-Suburban, District 13 championship.

Tim Shifflet, Winter Park: Shifflet’s team had the game against Timber Creek marked down in the calendar and made a statement. The Wildcats cruised to a 47-3 win, giving them the Class 4A-Metro, District 3 title.

John Brantley, Trinity Catholic: The Celtics wrapped up the Class 1A-Suburban, District 3 championship with a dominating 51-7 win over PK Yonge. Now the Celtics will await for the highly anticipated playoff brackets.
