Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Florida High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 13-Feb. 18 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 26th at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced Monday, Feb. 27th. Jahmari Johnson, Gateway Charter, Boys Basketball: Johnson has to be given his flowers on his most recent performance in a Class 3A, Region 3 quarterfinal 76-67 win over Naples First Baptist. The 6-foot-4 combo guard scored 38 points, including knocking down the game-tying 3-pointer to send the game into overtime.

Daniel MacGregor, Clearwater Calvary Christian, Boys Basketball: The guard is absolutely no stranger to this list and his most recent performance may be the best yet. MacGregor scored a game-high 39 points and led the Warriors to a thrilling 89-76 win over Northside Christian.

Isaiah St. Preux, Norland, Boys Basketball: The junior shooting guard was instrumental in leading the Vikings to a 90-57 over Archbishop McCarthy. St. Preux led Norland's six players that scored in double figures with 15 points (three 3-pointers). 

Israel Nuhu, Ponte Vedra, Boys Basketball: Going on the road like Ponte Vedra did across the state into Pasco County can create some jet lag. Not for Nuhu and the Sharks, though. The 6-foot-5 small forward scored a career-high 29 points in a 84-59 win over Wiregrass Ranch.

Isaiah Brown, Orlando Christian Prep, Boys Basketball: There's not many players that make it look as easy as Brown does. The guard and his fellow Warriors were on full display in a 93-22 Class 2A, Region 2 quarterfinal win over Zephyrhills Christian. Brown led the way with 26 points and six rebounds. 

Jamie Phillips, Winter Haven, Boys Basketball: Maybe a lot of the limelight goes to Isaac Celiscar, but Phillips is pretty dang good in his own regard. He showed that in a 81-66 win over Sarasota Riverview, scoring a team-high 24 points.

Kevin Garcia, Belen Jesuit, Boys Basketball: Needing a big game against TERRA Environmental, Garcia came through for the Wolverines. The senior point guard scored a team-high 19 points, dished out five assists and grabbed eight boards in a 71-60 victory. 

Noah French, Barron Collier, Boys Basketball: The Cougars got all kinds of contributions in a 80-57 Class 5A, Region 3 quarterfinal win over Lely, but French was the ring leader. French scored a team-high 28 points and snagged 10 rebounds.

Ian Smikle, Suncoast, Boys Basketball: One of the most well-rounded performances of the week came from Palm Beach County. Do you like variety? Smikle did a little bit of everything, scoring 16 points, pulling down 21 rebounds and blocking five shots. 

Sammie Yeanay, North Marion, Boys Basketball: Yes, there was several blowouts in the opening round of the playoffs and North Marion's 74-37 win over Umatilla was one of them. Yeanay was impressive for his club, however, scoring a team-high 25 points.

Paul Djobet, West Oaks, Boys Basketball: Anytime you can beat The Rock (not the wrestler), you know you've done something in the SIAA playoffs. Djobet led the way for West Oaks with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Jade Jones, The King's Academy, Girls Basketball: Going on the road into a hostile environment can be tough. Jones and her team made sure they didn't let the unfamiliar surroundings faze them. The sophomore scored a team-high 22 points in a 60-50 Class 3A, Region 2 final win. 

Kaylah Turner, Oakleaf, Girls Basketball: Before the Knights upended Land O' Lakes in the region final, they defeated Crestview 79-45 in the region semifinals. Turner seemingly as always, showed up and showed out. The guard scored a game-high 34 points and has Oakleaf back at states.

Konstantina Mantziori, Cardinal Gibbons, Girls Basketball: A trip to the Class 4A state semifinals is in order for the Chiefs and the point guard helped make it happen. Matnziori scored a team-high 21 points in a 65-45 win over North Broward Prep in a Class 4A, Region 4 final. 

Serenity Hardy, Winter Haven, Girls Basketball: It should be no surprise that the Blue Devils are back at states in basically their own backyard. What was somewhat surprising, though, is the level they made it look easy at. Hardy, a freshman, scored a team-high 27 points in a 80-44 win over Plant in a Class 7A, Region 3 final.

Sophia Rueppell, Bishop Kenny, Girls Basketball: For the fifth time in a row, Bishop Kenny is heading to states. The Crusaders defeated Rutherford 50-43 in a Class 4A, Region 1 final and Rueppell led the way with a team-high 19 points. 

Zaira Mitchell, Evangelical Christian, Girls Basketball: Needing to put on a big performance to send the Sentinels to states, Mitchell came through. The guard scored 30 points, just two less than the oppenent she was up against, in a 54-32 Class 2A, Region 3 final versus Keswick Christian.

Abby Kanady, Providence School, Girls Basketball: The Stallions are dancing their way into the Class 3A state semifinals next week at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Kanady scored a team-high 17 points and dished out six assists in the 64-58 win over P.K. Yonge. 

Diego Nolasco, Bishop Moore, Boys Soccer: The Hornets only needed one goal, but Nolasco made sure they had another one to secure a berth in the state championship. Nolasco scored two goals in a Class 4A state semifinal win over McKeel Academy. 

Harvey Sarajian, Naples, Boys Soccer: In search of their first state championship appearance since 1995, the Golden Eagles made it happen. Sarajian’s two goals lifted Naples to a 3-0 win over Jesuit, sending the Golden Eagles to the Class 5A state championship game.
