Vote Now: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week (12/26/2023)?

We’ve selected 16 candidates for your consideration

Central Florida girls’ basketball players got in the spirit of things this holiday season by bringing their “A” game to the court.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 16 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 18-23, 2023.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Neishaliz DeJesus, Guard, East Ridge (Clermont): Talented senior had 18 points and five rebounds in a 53-35 victory against Olympia (Orlando).

Sam Childs, Guard, Winter Park: The senior scored 11 points to lead the Wildcats past Lake Brantley, 47-22. She also had 15 points in a 39-37 win against Lake Nona.

Sofia Ramirez, Small Forward, Central Pointe Christian Academy (Kissimmee): The 5-foot-10 senior dropped 15 points against Downey Christian in a 46-31 victory.

Tierra Coleman, Guard/Small Forward, Wekiva (Apopka): The 5-8 senior turned in a stellar effort with 27 points, four rebounds and seven steals in a 70-30 victory against Lake Howell (Winter Park). She also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 steals in a 60-42 victory against Lake Minneola.

Danika Ballard, Guard, Boone (Orlando): The 5-9 senior scored 20 points in a 59-19 victory against Eustis.

Lexi Blue, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-2 senior exploded for 23 points, eight rebounds, and three assists to lead the Highlanders past Booker (Sarasota), 86-39.

Soraya Jokhan, Guard, Winter Springs:

The junior turned in a strong effort with 25 points, five rebounds, eight steals and two assists in a 57-30 victory against Fort Myers.

Leilani Ford, Guard, Trinity Prep (Winter Park): Freshman scored 11 points to lead the Saints past Mater Brighton Lakes Academy (Kissimmee), 48-24.

Talia St. Hilaire, Forward, City of Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee): Star senior recorded 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 45-17 romp against Iroquois (Pa.).

Alayna Lherisse, Guard/Forward, Eau Gallie (Melbourne): The 5-7 senior scored 19 points to lead the Commodores past Merritt Island, 53-28.

Hailey Bundy, Guard, Oviedo: Crafty sophomore recorded 17 points, three rebounds and two steals to lead the Lions past Freedom (Orlando), 50-20.

Zoe Corjay, Guard, Horizon (Winter Garden): Sophomore notched 14 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead the Hawks past Oviedo, 54-35.

Vivian Iwuchukwu, Forward, Montverde Academy: The 6-foot-4 senior poured in 24 points to lead the Eagles past Lone Peak High (Utah), 63-49, on the final day of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix.

Alaina Preble, Guard, Edgewood (Merritt Island): Senior turned in a stellar performance in a 66-32 victory against Cocoa Beach, recording 25 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks.

Erynn Moffett, Guard/Forward, Palm Bay: The fantastic 5-10 freshman recorded 16 points, three rebounds and three steals in a 66-30 victory against Viera.

E’mani Pryor, Center/Forward, Sebastian River: The talented 6-1 freshman recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double to lead the Sharks past The Master’s Academy (Vero Beach), 55-4.
